This is them winning best rap song for "Savage" and this photo is so cute. Later in the night, Beyonce won on her own, for best R&B performance for "Black Parade," and become the winningest woman in Grammy history, with 28 (!!!) Grammys, which is amazing. I also think this simple, sexy black leather Schiaparelli number is so effective. (Her gloves have gold fingernails, which is perfectly whimsical and based on a Schiaparelli design from the 30s.) (We talked about Megan earlier, iycmi: I love this color on her.)

She also looked FANTASTIC in this performance ensembles -- very glamorous Old Hollywood and beautiful. This performance was extremely enjoyable, and also included some tap-dancing that was a nod to the Nicholas Brothers, which means I get an excuse to link to this, which you have to see if you've never seen it.

Harry Styles in Gucci

I personally consider myself too agéd to have an interest in Harry Styles beyond a benign and maternal fondness (no judgement if your fondness is carnal!) but there is no denying that he is extremely charming and charismatic and talented, and I appreciate this black Gucci leather suit and boa combo, which reminds me of the late 90s, and which I know has brought GREAT DELIGHT to the land. He seems like such a good egg.

Haim in Helmut Lang

Our notes about this performance of "The Steps" just reads UNDERPANTS! and indeed. However, this ALSO felt very 90s to me in a way that I loved and their performance was GREAT so good on you, Haim.

Maren changed from the red carpet, and I think I like this look better on her; the red is a great color for her. Also, "I appreciate that John Mayer just shows up and plays the guitar and leaves on this one" is a thing I thought last night. (Say what you will about John, he CAN play the guitar.)

Don't we all sort of stare at Brittany Howard like this? It seems SO OBVIOUS that Chris Martin is thinking, "Wow, she is talented. Holy shit."

This was the "In Memoriam" section -- she sang "You'll Never Walk Alone" and okay I cried. Okay??!

Lionel Richie

The whole In Memoriam, in fact, was great. Different folks came out for different segments-- Brandi Carlile for John Prine, Bruno Mars for Little Richard, and some solo notes playing over a shot of an untouched guitar on stage for Eddie Van Halen. But obviously I was always going to share Lionel and his sober yet dramatic coat with you.

Mickey Guyton's performance of "Black Like Me" was also excellent AND she looks very pretty in this custom Naeem dress.

I actually love this Dua Lipa album, and think she looks gorgeous here and ALSO I for sure had this outfit for my Barbie. It's custom Versace, in keeping with her whole night.

And I wish I had those boots for me. One of the funniest things about last night was everyone on Twitter pointing out that dancing (as we also discussed re: her SNL performance) is not Dua Lipa's strong suit. And it really is not. I find it sort of endearing?

"Ooh, Cardi looks so cute with short hair," was what I said when I looked up at this, which was maybe not the FIRST thing Cardi wanted people to react to, but listen! IT IS TRUE. She also looks cute as a Sexy Droid.
