(Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images) We begin with Greta, who is continuing to locate the least wackadoo Loewes. This one feels just off-kilter enough to match her dramatic sense of style, but not so much so that it gave anyone a headache (least of all her). ## Regina Hall in Monique Lhuillier ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/12/GettyImages-1829611313-1701664841.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - DECEMBER 03: Regina Hall attends the 3rd Annual Academy Museum Gala at Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on December 03, 2023 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images) This has the feel of a dress that didn't come together quite like the designer thought it would. The sleeves aren't quite poofy enough to make a statement, they attach to the bodice a tad awkwardly, the seam over her left boob is odd... it's not QUITE there. Which doesn't shock me; I don't think of Monique as dealing in this sort of cut. ## Nia Vardalos ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/12/GettyImages-1829543837-1701664656.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - DECEMBER 03: Nia Vardalos (L) and guest attend the 3rd Annual Academy Museum Gala at Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on December 03, 2023 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images) I forgot until right this second that she and Ian Gomez are divorced. Nia looks lovely, her date is dishy (whoever he is), and I bet it did feel a little weird to be in a simple suit when some of these other folks showed up in FASHIONNNNN -- but also I suspect she looked at them all and was relieved to be able to move easily. ## Jon Bernthal ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/12/GettyImages-1829752803-1701674183.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - DECEMBER 03: Jon Bernthal attends the 3rd Annual Academy Museum Gala at Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on December 03, 2023 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Rodin Eckenroth/GA/The Hollywood Reporter via Getty Images) Yes, Jon. Yes. ## Rachel Sennott in Balenciaga ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/12/GettyImages-1829620736-1701664864.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - DECEMBER 03: Rachel Sennott attends the 3rd Annual Academy Museum Gala at Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on December 03, 2023 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images) She looks like that scene in a rom-com where her rival sabotages her dress, so she just rips half of it off and marches into the party anyway. ## Angela Bassett in Schiaparelli ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/12/GettyImages-1819263306-1701664582.jpg) Angela Bassett at the 2023 Academy Museum Gala held at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on December 3, 2023 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Michael Buckner/Variety via Getty Images) I don't know if this was just a weird lighting spot, or if she burnished herself gold as a tribute to Oscar (this IS the Academy museum, after all). I wish that one sleeve weren't attached directly to her sternum. ## Zazie Beetz ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/12/GettyImages-1829653576-1701665064.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - DECEMBER 03: Zazie Beetz attends the 3rd Annual Academy Museum Gala at Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on December 03, 2023 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Rodin Eckenroth/GA/The Hollywood Reporter via Getty Images) This is gently elegant. ## Kendall Jenner in Fendi ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/12/GettyImages-1829648451-1701664929.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - DECEMBER 03: Kendall Jenner attends the 3rd Annual Academy Museum Gala at Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on December 03, 2023 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images) I can't really object to this entirely, although in other shots you can definitely see nipple. ## Lily Gladstone in Marni ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/12/GettyImages-1829648448-1701664916.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - DECEMBER 03: Lily Gladstone attends the 3rd Annual Academy Museum Gala at Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on December 03, 2023 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images) I want to like it. Marni is an unexpected designer choice, and she's so charming. But I don't think it fits her chest? And I do NOT like the way the longer skirt fits under the shorter one by curling in on her. It's intentional, but looks strange to me. I also honestly would've located [some blue boots for her to mirror the runway model](https://www.instagram.com/p/C0axHPNN1xK/?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io). This is a thud for me. ## Anna Kendrick in Lela Rose ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/12/GettyImages-1829568726-1701664731.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - DECEMBER 03: Anna Kendrick attends the 3rd Annual Academy Museum Gala at Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on December 03, 2023 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images) Ooh, this is the best she's looked in a while. ## Lupita in Chanel ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/12/GettyImages-1829541722-1701670185-scaled.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - DECEMBER 03: Lupita Nyong'o attends the 3rd Annual Academy Museum Gala at Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on December 03, 2023 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Kevin Winter/WireImage,) On its own, this is a Granny's Tablecloth of a dress, but I think Lupita looks angelic in it. The headpiece was an inspired touch, as was changing the shoe to a metallic instead of [using Chanel's clashy black and white pumps](https://www.gofugyourself.com/photos/couture-week-chanel-spring-2022/infoimaxtree-com-23621?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io). ## Julia Garner in Phillip Lim ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/12/GettyImages-1829621272-1701664977.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - DECEMBER 03: Julia Garner attends the 3rd Annual Academy Museum Gala at Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on December 03, 2023 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images) And this is... a decision... that was made. I don't like ANY of it. Not the color on her, not the bangs, not the design, not the sheers... I will rush back to the bosom of Lily Gladstone's Marni rather than experience this. Or, I will rush forward into the embrace of Sheryl Lee Ralph... ## Sheryl Lee Ralph in Christian Siriano ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/12/GettyImages-1829639735-1701664903.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - DECEMBER 03: Sheryl Lee Ralph attends the 3rd Annual Academy Museum Gala at Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on December 03, 2023 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images) ... who is cradled in Christian Siriano on this night. It's not my favorite of his designs? It's a bit bridesmaidy. Or maybe Prom. There's something uninspired about that bodice. But the color is GREAT on her and it doesn't make me stabby, and that's a win. ## Ryan Michelle Bathe ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/12/GettyImages-1829640249-1701665027.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - DECEMBER 03: Ryan Michelle Bathe attends the 3rd Annual Academy Museum Gala at Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on December 03, 2023 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images) That is thematically reminiscent of Sheryl's. I can't decide which I prefer; neither is as inspired as I would like, but this one might be a tad better-made? ## David Oyelowo ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/12/GettyImages-1829822158-1701674160.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - DECEMBER 03: David Oyelowo attends the 3rd Annual Academy Museum Gala at Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on December 03, 2023 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Rodin Eckenroth/GA/The Hollywood Reporter via Getty Images) A minty king! ## Cara Jade Myers ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/12/GettyImages-1829778455-1701674194.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - DECEMBER 03: Cara Jade Myers attends the 3rd Annual Academy Museum Gala at Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on December 03, 2023 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Rodin Eckenroth/GA/The Hollywood Reporter via Getty Images) She looks tremendous in that color. ## Julianne Moore ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/12/GettyImages-1829607101-1701664828.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - DECEMBER 03: Julianne Moore attends the 3rd Annual Academy Museum Gala at Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on December 03, 2023 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images) FINALLY, JULIANNE. IT'S SO GOOD. THANK YOU. ## Emerald Fennell ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/12/GettyImages-1829746069-1701674217.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - DECEMBER 03: Emerald Fennell attends the 3rd Annual Academy Museum Gala at Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on December 03, 2023 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Rodin Eckenroth/GA/The Hollywood Reporter via Getty Images) The Green Club here really delivered. ## Barry Keoghan in Givenchy ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/12/GettyImages-1829648453-1701664941.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - DECEMBER 03: Barry Keoghan attends the 3rd Annual Academy Museum Gala at Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on December 03, 2023 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images) He looks surprisingly great in this considering it's Formal Sleeveless. There's also something about him that's giving me Compact Channing Tatum. ## Alicia Vikander in Louis Vuitton ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/12/GettyImages-1829600748-1701664791.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - DECEMBER 03: Alicia Vikander attends the 3rd Annual Academy Museum Gala at Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on December 03, 2023 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images) Leave it to Louis Vuitton to take a nice dark teal and ruin it. ## Danai Gurira in Elie Saab ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/12/GettyImages-1829561090-1701664694.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - DECEMBER 03: Danai Gurira attends the 3rd Annual Academy Museum Gala at Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on December 03, 2023 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images) Okay, but I LOVE this. She looks MAJOR. This might be one of my favorites of the whole night, for how head-to-toe A-list she looks. ## Zooey Deschanel in Shushutong ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/12/GettyImages-1829501176-1701664594.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - DECEMBER 03: Zooey Deschanel attends the 3rd Annual Academy Museum Gala at Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on December 03, 2023 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Rodin Eckenroth/GA/The Hollywood Reporter via Getty Images) All of this tweeness isn't quite for me, but it IS for her, and it works in that context. ## Chloe Grace Moretz in Louis Vuitton ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/12/GettyImages-1829601259-1701664816.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - DECEMBER 03: Chloë Grace Moretz attends the 3rd Annual Academy Museum Gala at Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on December 03, 2023 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images) The big belts and zippers from this collection were not my favorites, but I think that color is smashing on Chloe, and with her sleek bob she's looking very posh and polished. ## Brit Marling ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/12/GettyImages-1829713048-1701674206.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - DECEMBER 03: Brit Marling attends the 3rd Annual Academy Museum Gala at Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on December 03, 2023 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Rodin Eckenroth/GA/The Hollywood Reporter via Getty Images) She's here because the blue gloves are playing such a starring role. She cuts an interesting figure in this whole thing, AND she can help with the dishes. ## Deepika Padukone in Louis Vuitton ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/12/GettyImages-1829600752-1701664804.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - DECEMBER 03: Deepika Padukone attends the 3rd Annual Academy Museum Gala at Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on December 03, 2023 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images) I like to imagine she saw Alicia's on the rack and said, "Make me something that is the opposite of that." It's hard to imagine this coming from the same designer. But this also feels like a very standard order -- "pretty one-shoulder velvet column" is something any designer ought to be able to make in their sleep. ## Charles Melton ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/12/GettyImages-1829611327-1701670173.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - DECEMBER 03: Charles Melton attends the 3rd Annual Academy Museum Gala at Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on December 03, 2023 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images) This looked blue in the "black and white" post, so we moved it here; I still do think the SUIT is blue, but the shirt and shoes are black? The lighting has been tricky at a few of these so I am never wholly confident. I am also hopefully going to sit down to watch *May December* this week. ## Ke Huy Quan in Dior ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/12/GettyImages-1829561391-1701670199.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - DECEMBER 03: Ke Huy Quan attends the 3rd Annual Academy Museum Gala at Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on December 03, 2023 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images) Classic for a reason. ## keke Palmer in Monique Lhuillier ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/12/GettyImages-1829639214-1701670212.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - DECEMBER 03: Keke Palmer attends the 3rd Annual Academy Museum Gala at Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on December 03, 2023 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images) Could it MAYBE sit up a little higher? Yes, but by God, she's gorgeous in it anyway. ## Adrien Brody ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/12/GettyImages-1829537547-1701664644.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - DECEMBER 03: Adrien Brody attends the 3rd Annual Academy Museum Gala at Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on December 03, 2023 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images) OMG he has the word 'DIOR' airbrushed on his tie. I thought he'd sneezed on it for a second. ## Oprah in D&G, Danielle Brooks in Siriano ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/12/GettyImages-1829573478-1701664755.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - DECEMBER 03: (L-R) Oprah Winfrey and Danielle Brooks attend the 3rd Annual Academy Museum Gala at Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on December 03, 2023 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images) I said the other day that nobody had worn purple yet for *The Color Purple*, and here we have Oprah -- its producer, and Sofia in the original movie -- carrying that torch, standing with the new Sofia (Oprah also produced the Broadway musical in which Danielle ALSO was Sofia). Not only that... ## Taraji P. Henson in Zuhair Murad ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/12/GettyImages-1829640251-1701665038.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - DECEMBER 03: Taraji P. Henson attends the 3rd Annual Academy Museum Gala at Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on December 03, 2023 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images) ... but Taraji busted some out as well. I know this isn't technically on that promotional trail, though. It's more like... a visual reminder. Taraji looks fabulous. ## Bryce Dallas Howard ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/12/GettyImages-1829585826-1701664767.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - DECEMBER 03: Bryce Dallas Howard attends the 3rd Annual Academy Museum Gala at Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on December 03, 2023 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images) I did not expect the red shoes! This is all totally fun on her. ## Molly Gordon in Valentino ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/12/GettyImages-1829620752-1701664877.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - DECEMBER 03: Molly Gordon attends the 3rd Annual Academy Museum Gala at Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on December 03, 2023 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images) That's pretty, and also potentially a great built-in security system if she can make them squirt water at unwanted close-talkers. ## Brooklyn (in Dior) and Nicola (in Valentino) Peltz Beckham ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/12/GettyImages-1829555150-1701664682.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - DECEMBER 03: (L-R) Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz attend the 3rd Annual Academy Museum Gala at Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on December 03, 2023 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images) That beige hoof under there is terrible, but the rest is fine. ## Samara Weaving ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/12/GettyImages-1829648955-1701665052.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - DECEMBER 03: Samara Weaving attends the 3rd Annual Academy Museum Gala at Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on December 03, 2023 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images) This is delicate and lovely (and I think a very pale pink). ## Chrissy Teigen in Tony Ward, and John Legend ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/12/GettyImages-1829860647-1701674173.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - DECEMBER 03: (L-R) Chrissy Teigen and John Legend attend the 3rd Annual Academy Museum Gala at Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on December 03, 2023 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Rodin Eckenroth/GA/The Hollywood Reporter via Getty Images) Quite regal. Both of them. ## Zoe Kravitz in Saint Laurent ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/12/GettyImages-1829593993-1701664779.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - DECEMBER 03: Zoë Kravitz attends the 3rd Annual Academy Museum Gala at Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on December 03, 2023 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images) What a snore, honestly. And it's not even a GOOD nap. It's an unsatisfying one where you couldn't fall asleep properly until ten minutes before your alarm was going to go off. ## Aunjanue Ellis ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/12/GettyImages-1829525213-1701664607.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - DECEMBER 03: Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor attends the 3rd Annual Academy Museum Gala at Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on December 03, 2023 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images) Did Thom Browne do a Shirley Temple collection we didn't know about? ## Lamorne Morris ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/12/GettyImages-1829525730-1701664619.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - DECEMBER 03: Lamorne Morris attends the 3rd Annual Academy Museum Gala at Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on December 03, 2023 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images) I love Winnie the Bish for coming up with something unusual. ## Teo Yoo ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/12/GettyImages-1829566096-1701664719.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - DECEMBER 03: Teo Yoo attends the 3rd Annual Academy Museum Gala at Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on December 03, 2023 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images) That's not a bad version of it either! ## Taylor Zakhar Perez ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/12/GettyImages-1829532705-1701664632.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - DECEMBER 03: Taylor Zakhar Perez attends the 3rd Annual Academy Museum Gala at Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on December 03, 2023 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Rodin Eckenroth/GA/The Hollywood Reporter via Getty Images) You know what, I'll take all three. [Mr. Roy G.
