I would NOT have guessed this was LV; it's obviously very editorial but I think she's wearing it extremely well. I have missed her on the red carpet.
Stephanie Hsu in Giambattista Valli

This feels joyous and also bridal. The bottom half of this was considerably more sheer on the runway and I think they made the right call to edit that.
Phoebe Tonkin

Speaking of bridal! She is, of course, gorgeous -- even if this might need half a hoik? (Is it TOO bridal?)
Laura Harrier

In sincerely the night's chicest bathing suit cover-up. This is like High Class Vegas Pool Party Hosted By an A-Lister and she looks great in it.
Salma Hayek

This is definitely sort of bridal and while it looks gorgeous on her, it might need a little more...something? I don't know. It feels slightly underbaked to me, somehow.
Rashida Jones

This feels very on-brand for her. That's not a ding! She looks as cool as a person can look in...formal giant white dress overalls? (I do not believe this woman ever wears Old Navy.)
Camila Morrone in Chanel

I hate the shoes with this, but the dress itself is great on her.

Hari Nef in Mugler

Hari sort of looks like the Lost Haim Sister in this, just turned up a notch. Maybe the Cool Haim Cousin Who Just Got Back From Europe.
Selena Gomez in Valentino

This is arguably silly but I don't dislike it? You COULD argue that her neckline detailing is a bit of festive holiday garland gone rogue.
Sandra Oh

Insert your own The Crows Have Eyes joke here. (Although she wears this well and I'm very excited for Fantasia to being getting so much acclaim lately.)
Sofia Coppola

This looks navy here, but I'm pretty sure it's actually black. Regardless, it is also a fave of my own, in the I'm a Severe Governess category.
Dua Lipa
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - DECEMBER 03: Dua Lipa attends the 3rd Annual Academy Museum Gala at Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on December 03, 2023 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images)
This feels a little predictable for her? Or, rather, for someone in her position as a young female pop musician at a film event? I wish she'd veered toward something a little more interesting. She looks great from the clavicle up, though -- that necklace is MAJOR.
Christopher Briney

Meryl Streep

No offensive, Meryl, but this is very boring and you know it!!! At least put on some honking giant earrings! You were the honoree!!!!!
Amber Valletta in Alaïa

I think this ALSO needs jewelry. I also think it looks too short on her torso, maybe? I keep wanting to suggest a jacket but then it would go fully Sandy From Grease. Is this underwhelming, or is it just me?
Olivia Wilde in Alexandre Vauthier
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - DECEMBER 03: Olivia Wilde attends the 3rd Annual Academy Museum Gala at Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on December 03, 2023 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images)

Diana Silvers

I love the big wide belt on this and have to confess that, in real life, I love this and would wear it. Is it maybe a little underbaked here? I truly keep going back and forth.
Addison Rae in Roberto Cavalli
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - DECEMBER 03: Addison Rae attends the 3rd Annual Academy Museum Gala at Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on December 03, 2023 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images)
This was shown on the runway with undergarments that blended much more elegantly and I wish she'd stuck with that; this is veering a little....predictable? Maybe?
Cara Delevingne in Del Core
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - DECEMBER 03: Cara Delevingne attends the 3rd Annual Academy Museum Gala at Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on December 03, 2023 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images)

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - DECEMBER 03: Billie Eilish attends the 3rd Annual Academy Museum Gala at Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on December 03, 2023 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Rodin Eckenroth/GA/The Hollywood Reporter via Getty Images)
The pertinent fact here to me is that I believe Billie currently has at least one ornamental gold tooth. Although I suppose it's pertinent that she's also wearing...a kerchief? This...does not hang together for me.
Lenny Kravitz
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - DECEMBER 03: Lenny Kravitz attends the 3rd Annual Academy Museum Gala at Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on December 03, 2023 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images)
Feels right to end on Lenny in these wide-legged leather pants.
