I truly do not understand what even happened here or what this dress is doing, or what the thought process was or honestly anything. (The black part is the same fabric used for her black dress at the BAFTAs, but I can't find any info about whether it's LITERALLY her BAFTAs gown remade, or just...from the same bolt? REGARDLESS, if you're gonna do that, just give this thing a black column skirt. Or pants! Imagine this top with black cigarette pants!)

She looks like a cigarette girl from this angle, that peplum pops out so aggressively. This top/bottom combo is just wholly nonsensical to me. It's two fully unrelated dresses. I need an oral history of this look.

I thought her vocal performance was stunning -- this is truly stating the obvious, but MY GOD CAN SHE SING -- and she looked fab doing it. (We'll cover the telecast later today.) This might be a little bit overwrought for me? It's not BAD but it's SO much skirt.

The varying fabrics in the bodice are VERY cool and they almost got overshadowed by the volume. (Plus those rings!)

This landed on a lot of Worst Dressed Lists that floated in front of my face last night, and I know it will be divisive here (Heather does not agree with me, in fact) but I sort of LOVE THIS? I mean, it is over the top and a little bit sheer and ALL sleeves, but it's also like Naughty Gibson Girl and I also think she looks kinda great regardless.

Whereas this is just perplexing to me! She is often so very glam -- and is obviously very gorgeous regardless -- and this is weirdly stuffy and dated and like something you'd see in the background on an episode of *Dynasty* where they go to a charity ball and then someone falls down a well. It's not as good without the cape, unfortunately -- it's bringing you the classic sheer skirt/granny panty energy that we're all over, although that's hard to tell in this photo. It feels sweeter without the cape, and I miss that edge. This also has a witchy aura that I kind of dig, although overall this dress is a bit...zany. (I'm confused by her grommets, a sentence I've written more in my life than I'd ever anticipated.)
