Alfred Hitchcock looks like Alfred Hitchcock throughout, and Tippi looks like...well, the Hitchcock blonde that she is, elegant and luxe and well-coiffed.

This suit is beautiful, this hat is kooky, and you can see how much her daughter Melanie Griffith resembles her, here. And, I think, Dakota too.

In case you thought promotional goofiness was a new invention.

These photos are so evocative in black and white...but I do also wish I knew what color this dress was.

Should we bring back the concept of the Evening Coat?

Informative Caption tells us that this photo "shows Prince Vittorio Emanuele of Savoy, Prince of Naples (L), US actress Tippi Hedren (2ndL) and British director Alfred Hitchcock with an unidentified journalist at an evening aboard the yacht "Malhane" owned by film producer Sam Spiegel during the 16th Cannes Film Festival. " Poor unidentified journalist! Although he probably got a good story out of this outing. FYI, the Prince is a REAL BAD PERSON, whose Wiki covers antisemitism, racketeering, corruption charges, prostitution, conspiracy AND ALSO MURDER. It flatly lists one of his occupations as "arms dealer" and notes that he married a "Swiss biscuit heiress and world-ranked water skier." He's in a long feud with Beatrice Borromeo -- current Princess of Monaco -- because when she was a journalist, she broke a HUGE story about the aforementioned murder. He said Mussolini "wasn't that terrible." Tippi probably should have pushed him off the boat. (Now his son is in a fight with Italy because he wants the crown jewels back.)
