I have a slight phobia of birds, so as you can imagine, *The Birds* is a TRAUMATIC VIEWING FOR ME. I've only seen it once, whereas I've seen my favorite Hitchcock film, *Rear Window*, countless times. ([We also covered the *Rear Window*](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/rear-window-premiered-on-this-day-in-1954-08-2022/) premiere last year, in case you missed it.) I'd *much* rather have a possibly murderous neighbor than get attacked by hordes of psychotic birds, I don't know about you. Hitch and the crew took to Cannes this week back in 1963 to introduce everyone to that particular terror, and it was full of pillbox hats *and* also bird special effects and also A DERANGED Wiki Deep Dive.
