(Photo by Kevin Mazur/Getty Images for MTV) Miranda cracks me up. This looks like a suit you'd get at Express, and then layered over a halter-top bikini. I think it's actually that her blazer has a funky lapel and then she's wearing a beaded bra-top, but it's an entertaining optical illusion. It's a shame the rest of her has disappeared into the step-and-repeat and this is an insane suggestion but would this have been better as....SHORTS? ## GloRilla ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2024/09/GettyImages-2171411441-1726103302.jpg) ELMONT, NEW YORK - SEPTEMBER 11: GloRilla attends the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards at UBS Arena on September 11, 2024 in Elmont, New York. (Photo by Jeff Kravitz/Getty Images for MTV) Okay, so I actually think the fabric/pattern of this suit is amazing and she looks SO cute. Yes, that's not as much a tube top and it is...a tube STRIP, and I sort of wish she'd just worn a white tank top, but the rest of it is so neat! It feels pleasantly 90s! I can pick and choose the parts I like! ## Tinashe in Rick Owens ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2024/09/GettyImages-2170699703-1726103199.jpg) Tinashe at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards held at UBS Arena on September 11, 2024 in in Elmont, New York. (Photo by Gilbert Flores/Billboard via Getty Images) I have to say, her body looked great in this on TV -- RESPECTFULLY!! -- and I do appreciate that this has a point of view. YES it's sort of...funereal-trapped-on-a-desert-island but it's something! ## Cyndi Lauper ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2024/09/GettyImages-2170695999-1726103160.jpg) Cyndi Lauper at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards held at UBS Arena on September 11, 2024 in in Elmont, New York. (Photo by Gilbert Flores/Billboard via Getty Images) She looks terrific in this. (Even if the step-and-repeat makes her look like she's only got one leg.) ## Tate McRae ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2024/09/GettyImages-2170703375-1726103233.jpg) Tate McRae at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards held at UBS Arena on September 11, 2024 in Elmont, New York. (Photo by Christopher Polk/Billboard via Getty Images) Listen, I love a spray tan but she maybe should have told the nice folks at Sugar & Bronzed that she wanted Level 3, not Level 4? The rest of this feels...you know. Like the VMAs. It’s actually a tribute [to something Britney once wore](https://www.instagram.com/p/C%5FzS78MOtU-/?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==&ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io), and while we love Britney, her clothes are generally not why. This is somehow a WORSE version, also. ## Lenny Kravitz ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2024/09/GettyImages-2171405557-1726103256.jpg) ELMONT, NEW YORK - SEPTEMBER 11: Lenny Kravitz attends the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards at UBS Arena on September 11, 2024 in Elmont, New York. (Photo by Noam Galai/Getty Images for MTV) When Lenny Kravitz has an important job interview but doesn't want to look TOO corporate. ## Teddy Swims ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2024/09/GettyImages-2170697607-1726103171.jpg) Teddy Swims at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards held at UBS Arena on September 11, 2024 in in Elmont, New York. (Photo by Gilbert Flores/Billboard via Getty Images) Honestly? I LOVE this. This is so cool on him. ## Benson Boone ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2024/09/GettyImages-2170699477-1726103184.jpg) Benson Boone at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards held at UBS Arena on September 11, 2024 in Elmont, New York. (Photo by Gilbert Flores/Billboard via Getty Images) He won a few awards and has opened for Taylor Swift, and was FANTASTIC last night -- but I do think this look feels like something Lisa Vanderpump is considering putting on the bartenders at SUR this upcoming holiday season. ## Margaret Qualley and Jack Antonoff ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2024/09/GettyImages-2170699748-1726103211.jpg) Margaret Qualley and Jack Antonoff at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards held at UBS Arena on September 11, 2024 in Elmont, New York. (Photo by Christopher Polk/Billboard via Getty Images) They look incredibly normal. I keep forgetting they're married, even though [I covered their wedding at length](https://drinkswithbroads.substack.com/p/today-brings-you-taylor-swift-in). I assume Margaret is in Chanel, as she is a brand ambassador. ## Shawn Mendes ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2024/09/GettyImages-2170699844-1726103223.jpg) Shawn Mendes at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards held at UBS Arena on September 11, 2024 in in Elmont, New York. (Photo by Gilbert Flores/Billboard via Getty Images) He's handsome! That's all. ## Amelia Dimoldenberg ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2024/09/GettyImages-2171405775-1726103268.jpg) ELMONT, NEW YORK - SEPTEMBER 11: Amelia Dimoldenberg attends the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards at UBS Arena on September 11, 2024 in Elmont, New York. (Photo by Jamie McCarthy/WireImage) She looks nice, although I DO wonder if the VMAs would have been the place to unleash something shorter. ## Doechii in Thom Browne ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2024/09/GettyImages-2171408594-1726103279.jpg) ELMONT, NEW YORK - SEPTEMBER 11: Doechii attends the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards at UBS Arena on September 11, 2024 in Elmont, New York. (Photo by Noam Galai/Getty Images for MTV) Adorable, for real. She looks great. ## Naomi Scott ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2024/09/GettyImages-2171412153-1726103314.jpg) ELMONT, NEW YORK - SEPTEMBER 11: Naomi Scott attends the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards at UBS Arena on September 11, 2024 in Elmont, New York. (Photo by Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images) This feels very autumnal but I guess it IS September. It also feels....lightly Liza Minnelli. In a good way, to be clear! I like this! ## Flo Milli in PatBo ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2024/09/GettyImages-2171415545-1726103324.jpg) ELMONT, NEW YORK - SEPTEMBER 11: Flo Milli attends the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards at UBS Arena on September 11, 2024 in Elmont, New York. (Photo by Jamie McCarthy/WireImage) She's a babe and I actually like this dress -- the beading is cool -- although the lining situation is perplexing. I might have tried undies closer to her skin tone rather than your classic black bikini? ## Camila Cabello in Tony Ward ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2024/09/GettyImages-2171408735-1726103290.jpg) ELMONT, NEW YORK - SEPTEMBER 11: Camila Cabello attends the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards at UBS Arena on September 11, 2024 in Elmont, New York. (Photo by Kevin Mazur/Getty Images for MTV) That's not a sleeve, it's a lace headpiece that she's wearing. I think the details of the dress feel like they're getting a little lost in the styling. [The Black and White Looks of the 2024 VMAs Also Involved a Lot of Boob and LaceLenny Kravitz, we're including you in this!![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/bf/b9/bfb99790-924d-4e41-a7e6-5e3c6e04fe57/content/images/static-gofugyourself-com/uploads/2024/09/gettyimages-2171403068-1726103244.jpg)](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/the-black-and-white-looks-of-the-2024-vmas-also-involved-a-lot-of-boob-and-lace-09-2024/)
