Kate LOVES a theme and this is perhaps the most military-y of all her black military-themed coats. I both like it and think the fringey epaulettes are way too on the nose for this event and it feels a little costume-y. That hat is great, though. (And regular readers know that I do always like it when Kate leans into a look I call -- affectionately, please do not yell at me -- Victorian Bitch.)

I always enjoy the back of an updo.

## Camilla and Kate

There is something slightly amusing to me about the fact that Camilla brought out her handbag and perched it here on the ledge. Her hat has, as per usual with her, got perhaps too much happening on it. And, also per usual, I long for the day when someone figures out how to photograph this event so we don't all have to stare at the overhead lights in the hideous conference room behind them.

## Tim Laurence and Sophie

Mr Princess Anne looks dashing as usual, and -- also as usual, actually -- Sophie looks very striking. She is, to my mind, often one of the best-dressed people at this event. I have no theories as to why that is.

## Sophie Wessex

Here, she looks like a guest star on Downton Abbey who is plotting someone's downfall -- a compliment, to be sure. (Edward was down on the ground taking part in the ceremony. I did not buy a picture of him.) (Andrew did not take part, correctly.)

Looking sensible and competent, as per usual. (Lots of business as usual here, although this is a much smaller group than previous years, without Andrew, Phillip, and the Sussexes.)

## Wills and Chaz

This coat/hat combo continues to be very effective on a man.

Did I pull this photo because Her Majesty looked vaguely irritated with everyone? Yes, I certainly did.

## Queen Elizabeth II

Queen Elizabeth II donned a face mask in public for the first time during the coronavirus pandemic when attending a brief ceremony at Westminster Abbey last week to mark the centenary of the burial of the Unknown Warrior. While the 94-year-old has been seen in public on several occasions over the past few months, she has not worn a face covering Queen, London, United Kingdom - 04 Nov 2020

This was from Saturday, but it seemed apt to include it here. The Queen attended "a ceremony to mark the centenary of the burial of the Unknown Warrior, in Westminster Abbey, London." This is the first time she's been seen in public wearing a mask. (As an FYI, everyone wore masks in their cars going to and fro at Sunday's event.) I believe the bouquet she laid here was a copy of her wedding bouquet, which is quite lovely. (It is a tradition for royal brides to lay their bouquet at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.)
