Claire Foy in Fendi
I am beginning to have Concerns about whatever is happening on Team Foy, because I feel like this aimed for Gloriously Directional and kinda landed in I Swiftly Walked Through The Halloween Section Of Party City. She is lovely and talented, but I feel like she cannot pull off half the stuff she ends up wearing and it feels a little forced. Not everyone needs to look like they're constantly shaking off a Vogue hangover.
Vanessa Kirby
Vanessa Kirby looks vaguely like Natasha Richardson to me, with her hair this blond. She also looks like she is regretting a series of recent life choices -- perhaps including the ones that have lead to her being the subject of gossip theorizing that she's about to be Tom Cruise's newest object of affection. (They're also co-starring in the new Mission Impossible together.) We all know she can really wear clothes, thanks to having seen The Crown, but this falls a bit flat for me --- it makes her torso look super long, which, as a person who is basically ALL torso pains me on a personal level.
Matt Smith
Everytime I see Matt Smith, I imagine that he's apologizing to me for the next season of The Crown.
Jared Harris, Allegra Riggio
I must correct myself! Jared Harris does not look miserable, he looks lovely -- as does his wife. (In Googling her, I discovered that she wrote a piece for Us Weekly about how they ended up getting together that is an emotional ride I did not expect to take, as it opens like a PR placement for her friend's party planning business and then she gets SUPER honest about how emotionally miserable they both were when they met. My heart was warmed. Also, fun fact: They met at the bar where I had my 30th birthday party, which was attended by Chris Noth [unintentionally. He was just there at the same time] and HIS now-wife. I also had one of the weirdest dates of my life there! NOW who's super honest?)
