Billie Eilish in Gucci

In these dark and uncertain times, it's very soothing that Billie Eilish has arrived in an ensemble composed of her coolest aunt's best guest bedroom linens. She also continues to be one of the only people to model good mask behavior. Ten points to Eilish!

Lil Nas X in Gucci

This has a real Prince vibe that I appreciate. (Although of course in Prince's hands, it would be purple.) God bless Lil Nas X for BRINGING IT.

Julia Michaels

Is it possible this is actually a dress and boots? Oh yes. But I decided it could ALSO be leggings and a giant top so here we are. Who knows what anything is anymore? Who CARES what anything might even be? We can talk it out.

Brandy

I admittedly did not see this performance because I forgot to turn on the TV in time last night, but! I am always at home for a Brandy renaissance.

Lilly Singh

In fairness, this should be in a Compelling Blazers slideshow, but I didn't make one of those.

Pentatonix

The men here take this in a mile -- this might be the first time in a long time where I felt like the woman is the one who phoned in her look. She looks like a very cute girl who ran into these stylish dudes in the lobby of the hotel and took a pic with them -- I wish she'd tried something a little more interesting.

Ivy Queen

Now this? THIS is interesting. (I haven't seen a credit for it, but I assume it's The Blonds. It's rad -- if you're going to perform on an awards show, PERFORM ON IT.)

Saint Jhn

Look, we've all been home for a while -- I get that it's very easy to forget parts of our outfits. The shirt is probably the safest one to forget!

Lauren Daigle

I LOVE this fabric and really wish this was a mod little dress and not boot-cut capri pants and a vest.

Jay Ellis

This is mostly compelling because he's very handsome, but also this color is bold and chic!

BTS

They look like cute flight attendants on a fun airline -- like Jet Blue used to be -- and given the backdrop here, I assume that's intentional.

Addison Rae

As a middle-aged person, I am NOT trying to learn ANY YouTube stars or TikTok personalities because my brain just does not have room. I've chosen not to take their identities on. But she's presenting at this thing and thus I have no choice! She looks very pretty, though.

Jharrel Jerome

Torn between which pants to wear? Wear one leg of each!

Sheila E

Sheila E is truly an immortal being and looks ageless and kicky here.

Sheila E, again.

I truly want front row tickets for THIS Vegas show.

Alicia Keys

Obviously also same. This looks like Alicia Keys Salutes Cher, which...I would ALSO watch. (You can see a full-length shot at her Instagram, too.)

The 2020 Billboard Music Award Brought Us Compelling Trousers

At least we'll always have compelling trousers.
