Not a complaint! It's just a creative tic. This episode was directed by Benjamin Caron, who has done a lot of The Crown, but also has directed a lot of Hollyoaks, which should give him a right soap-y sensibility. (He also directed the \[possible?\] series finale of Sherlock.) Also: Shoutout to whomever is sourcing all the period-appropriate cars for this show, because they're great. ![The Crown Season Four Recaps](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2020/11/The-Crown-Season-Four-Recaps27-1605484463-scaled.jpg) This is Diana's sister, Sarah -- in a scene where it's tossed off that she's now engaged to someone else even though last time we saw her, she was dating Charles -- but my real question is: Why are there so many lampshades in this shot? FWIW, I must also share with you these tidbits from Sarah's Wiki: "During the period in which she dated the prince, she allegedly met two reporters, James Whittaker and Nigel Nelson, at a restaurant and gave them an exclusive report on her royal connection. She is said to have admitted to having been diagnosed with anorexia, having “thousands of boyfriends”, a past problem involving alcohol, and that she had started keeping a scrapbook of all the press clippings about her royal romance that she intended to “show” future grandchildren. “Her head seemed to be turned by the publicity”, the two reporters later said. She also declared that she would not marry Charles “if he were the dustman or the King of England”. When the article was released, she showed it to the prince, which made him furious and he replied, “You've just done something incredibly stupid.” The relationship dissolved soon after that." (Honestly, this sort of makes me like her. Mention it all, Sarah! Ah, the 80s!
