That red lip? Bring it. ![The Crown Season 4 recaps](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2020/12/The-Crown-Recaps-Season-Four13-1607293710-scaled.jpg) Y'all, there are SO many throw pillows in this episode; I'm living for it. Margaret's entire aesthetic is throw pillows, knickknacks, sunglasses, and booze. These are all of my personal interests as well. ![The Crown Season 4 recaps](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2020/12/The-Crown-Recaps-Season-Four15-1607293855-scaled.jpg) Just a shout-out to the pattern Her Majesty is wearing here. She looks like the inside of a Crane envelope, in a good way. ![The Crown Season 4 recaps](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2020/12/The-Crown-Recaps-Season-Four16-1607293868-scaled.jpg) I thought there was a nice juxtaposition here between Margaret's surgery in a hospital, and the one in the series premiere wherein her father has lung surgery on a table in the dining room at the palace. ![The Crown Season 4 recaps](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2020/12/The-Crown-Recaps-Season-Four17-1607293881-scaled.jpg) Andrew is a bottomless void but this actor's facial expression, when Phillip starts waxing poetic about conceiving Andrew, is CLASSIC and I laughed. In other news: Why is Jared Kushner sitting over there next to Diana? ![The Crown Season 4 recaps](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2020/12/The-Crown-Recaps-Season-Four19-1607293907-scaled.jpg) I will say that Diana's dress here is fantastic, and I would wear it now. (The 80s truly are back.) ![The Crown Season 4 recaps](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2020/12/The-Crown-Recaps-Season-Four21-1607293934-scaled.jpg) LOOK AT THESE PILLOWS. This is Margaret's Apartment 1A, in Kensington Palace, which is also where Wills and Kate live now (and where we stuck Bex and Nick in The Heir Affair). Remember in previous seasons, when she and Tony were going all mid-century modern? I guess in his absence, she has reverted to Classic Fusty Lots of Stuff. (I don't dislike CFLoS, it's just a change.) ![The Crown Season 4 recaps](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2020/12/The-Crown-Recaps-Season-Four22-1607293948-scaled.jpg) It is humorous to me that everyone was forced into Order of the Something Or Other costumes for a scene where Margaret just eyeballs the Queen's children (and Diana) resentfully. (They look like they're in Order of the Garter outfits, but the surrounding hoo-ha was rather unclear. I'm assuming that's what this is meant to be -- there is a worship service after the investiture. I suspect a LOT of event-related set-pieces ended up on the cutting room floor; these costumes are pricey and fiddlely for just a two second moment.) ![The Crown Season 4 recaps](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2020/12/The-Crown-Recaps-Season-Four11-1607295227-scaled.jpg) Again, the costume and production folks did an excellent job in putting together these moments in less palatial surroundings; this is Katherine and Nerissa, and the show portrays them as sweet souls who love their family, which has abandoned them in this place. It's truly wrenching. ![The Crown Season 4 recaps](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2020/12/The-Crown-Recaps-Season-Four25-1607293989-scaled.jpg) Meanwhile, Margaret is TRAGIC in caftans -- her vow to quit smoking and drinking forgotten -- in Mustique, where Charles appears in an incredibly true-to-life double-breasted light suit. I swear, Charles still owns this very suit. ![The Crown Season 4 recaps](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2020/12/The-Crown-Recaps-Season-Four24-1607293975-scaled.jpg) Honestly, I know she's in a bad way, but Margaret's place on Mustique is chic! (And [that's a great recreation of her actual sofa](https://www.townandcountrymag.com/society/tradition/a30139905/princess-margaret-mustique-island-home/?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io).) ![The Crown Season 4 recaps](https://storage.ghost.io/c/bf/b9/bfb99790-924d-4e41-a7e6-5e3c6e04fe57/content/images/static-gofugyourself-com/uploads/2020/12/the-crown-recaps-season-four1-1607293563-scaled.jpg) Truly this is how I imagine myself going through my own daily life. (I wish.) ![The Crown Season 4 recaps](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2020/12/The-Crown-Recaps-Season-Four2-1607293576-scaled.jpg) Bridget Jones's Mum has lovely natural night in her office! ![The Crown Season 4 recaps](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2020/12/The-Crown-Recaps-Season-Four3-1607293589-scaled.jpg) I have NO idea where they are right now -- the whole family is there -- but this is a very grand place for the dramatic revelation that cousins you believed to be dead are in fact alive. ![The Crown Season 4 recaps](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2020/12/The-Crown-Recaps-Season-Four4-1607293602-scaled.jpg) All hail the glorious library ladder! ![The Crown Season 4 recaps](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2020/12/The-Crown-Recaps-Season-Four5-1607293615-scaled.jpg) Just a note that it was a very amusing character note to have Margaret be a terrifyingly bad driver. That seems believable. ![The Crown Season 4 recaps](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2020/12/The-Crown-Recaps-Season-Four7-1607293641-scaled.jpg) This is possibly the least dignified thing to be wearing when confronted about pretending members of your own family are dead because you're worried they're going to make you look bad. ![The Crown Season 4 recaps](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2020/12/The-Crown-Recaps-Season-Four8-1607293654-scaled.jpg) Margaret seemingly comes by her love of throw pillow honestly. ![The Crown Season 4 recaps](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2020/12/The-Crown-Recaps-Season-Four9-1607293667-scaled.jpg) Everyone is low-key worried about Margaret, who IS miserable and drunk and partying too much in Mustique...but at least she looks FANTASTIC? (1982 Fucked Up translates to 2020 Fantastic.) ![The Crown Season 4 recaps](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2020/12/The-Crown-Recaps-Season-Four10-1607293679-scaled.jpg) And the view, at least, is perfect. Poor Margs. She did have a tough go of it. [The Crown Turns Its View, Again, to MargaretWho is going through it on a variety of levels.![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/bf/b9/bfb99790-924d-4e41-a7e6-5e3c6e04fe57/content/images/static-gofugyourself-com/uploads/2020/12/the-crown-recaps-season-four1-1607293563-scaled.jpg)](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/the-crown-recap-season-four-the-hereditary-principle-12-2020/)
