Again, a lot of these women just wore new dresses, as usual -- but please know that I may have missed some sustainability efforts. (As we mentioned earlier, we don't know how much lead time people had to try to adhere to the request. I was really looking forward to people making an effor on that front, though, and was let down there.) This is...fine. She rather looks like The Widow Robbie.

A SEXY WIDOW.

This is VERY her -- and her household gets points, as I believe Joaquin has worn the same tux to every event -- but it's kind of great?

I don't love this -- although the lipstick is fun! -- but it is at least sustainable, as it was made with discarded satin. Both she and Margot sort of have the I'm Not Going To Win Any Of These And I'm Tired vibe of the tail end of awards season.

Olivia Colman in custom McQueen

This isn't bad. Olivia's stylist tends to put her in things that are a bit fussy, and I'd love to see them go in the total opposite direction and dress her like more of a bad bitch -- you know how Fiona Shaw's character on Killing Eve is always telling Sandra Oh to murder someone while wearing a $5000 perfect coat by some obscure Swedish brand, or some such? More of that! Leather pants! Sleek suits! I have thoughts! But this is pleasant enough.

Jessie Buckley in Miu Miu

This is WACKY but also comparatively somewhat entertaining. (It is custom, but if FEELS vintage? Stylists are insanely busy right now but if they could all just send us a brief memo about all their thoughts about every given look, that'd be GREAT THANKS.)

Lily-Rose Depp in Chanel

What you can't tell, really, from THIS pic is that this involves....deep sigh...a catsuit. (Chanel, of all design houses, surely has a deep archive they could have revisited for this event.)

Greta Gerwig

You can't really tell in this pic, but this is a deep green velvet. It's dishy!

I believe this is also a deep green; it IS sustainable, OdlR said that the fabric is sustainable. I think it's beautiful and a little sexier than she usually goes.

Her head looks SO GOOD HERE; I do wonder if she needs slightly LARGER jewelry? (This whole thing feels very 90s.)

THIS at least is from their archives! It is also jaunty.

I've DECIDED this is vintage. Although I don't think it actually is.

A Lot of People Opted For Black or White at the 2020 BAFTAs
With a sprinkling of burgundy and green...but again, very little vintage!
