He takes a lot of fashion risks, and it's appreciated. [PopSugar had an interesting piece about this look, and the fabric used to create it](https://www.popsugar.com/fashion/lil-nas-x-bet-awards-red-carpet-looks-2021-48394394?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io), and I wish I could see it close up. ## Lil Nas X in Andrea Grossi ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/06/shutterstock_editorial_12171961dt-1624847958.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Jordan Strauss/AP/Shutterstock (12171961dt) Lil Nas X arrives at the BET Awards, at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles 2021 BET Awards - Arrivals, Los Angeles, United States - 27 Jun 2021 This was, by the way, shown on the runway as menswear; [which you can see here](https://www.instagram.com/p/CQpPR7eBlCD/?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io). ## Lil Nas in Richard Quinn ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/06/shutterstock_editorial_12171962ag-1624848063.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Jordan Strauss/AP/Shutterstock (12171962ag) Lil Nas X arrives at the BET Awards, at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles 2021 BET Awards - Arrivals, Los Angeles, United States - 27 Jun 2021 He did change at some point -- I'm always a little unsure about the logistics when a person walks the red carpet in two looks -- into this zesty Richard Quinn look that is also probably easier to maneuver. ## Lil' Kim in D&G ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/06/shutterstock_editorial_12171961ew-1624847983.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Jordan Strauss/AP/Shutterstock (12171961ew) Lil' Kim arrives at the BET Awards, at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles 2021 BET Awards - Arrivals, Los Angeles, United States - 27 Jun 2021 As I noted: We've got an unfortunate lot of D&G in this post. They seem to be making a full court press with the stylists of the world to get back into the red carpet, and it's working. As far as this goes, I feel like it would have looked sleeker with pants instead of shorts. ## Jennifer Hudson in D&G ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/06/shutterstock_editorial_12171961gj-1624848014.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Jordan Strauss/AP/Shutterstock (12171961gj) Jennifer Hudson arrives at the BET Awards, at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles 2021 BET Awards - Arrivals, Los Angeles, United States - 27 Jun 2021 This, too, is Dolce. I've always said that D&G is who you go to if you want to look like a dramatic widow, and at least here they are fulfilling the brief. ## Jennifer Hudson in D&G ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/06/shutterstock_editorial_12171962as-1624848075-scaled.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Jordan Strauss/AP/Shutterstock (12171962as) Jennifer Hudson arrives at the BET Awards, at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles 2021 BET Awards - Arrivals, Los Angeles, United States - 27 Jun 2021 My not particularly brilliant take here, but one I need to share nonetheless, is that these belts seems so uncomfortable to me. ## Jennifer Hudson in D&G ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/06/shutterstock_editorial_12171961gl-1624848026-scaled.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Jordan Strauss/AP/Shutterstock (12171961gl) Jennifer Hudson arrives at the BET Awards, at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles 2021 BET Awards - Arrivals, Los Angeles, United States - 27 Jun 2021 It's always fun to see the stylists making sure that their client looks perfect in their red carpet shots. ## Taraji P Henson in Versace ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/06/shutterstock_editorial_12171950cr-1624847901.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Broadimage/Shutterstock (12171950cr) Taraji P. Henson BET Awards, Arrivals, Microsoft Theater, Los Angeles, California, USA - 27 Jun 2021 I am personally VERY not a fan of this sheer boning bodice situation that seems to be popping up again, this is kind of fun and I'll take it over D&G. ## Queen Latifah in Thom Browne ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/06/shutterstock_editorial_12171961fr-1624848004.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Jordan Strauss/AP/Shutterstock (12171961fr) Queen Latifah arrives at the BET Awards, at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles 2021 BET Awards - Arrivals, Los Angeles, United States - 27 Jun 2021 This is cool! She looks like the chicest Victorian governess -- the one who, it turns out, is actually also a vampire slayer. ## Saweetie ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/06/shutterstock_editorial_12171950in-1624847912.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Broadimage/Shutterstock (12171950in) Saweetie BET Awards, Arrivals, Microsoft Theater, Los Angeles, California, USA - 27 Jun 2021 This feels a bit like it's from a fashion line Princess Leia designed, based on her experiences in the gold bikini. ## Ari Lennox in Bishme Cromartie ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/06/shutterstock_editorial_12171647bo-1624847890.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Rob Latour/Shutterstock (12171647bo) Ari Lennox BET Awards, Arrivals, Microsoft Theater, Los Angeles, California, USA - 27 Jun 2021 This is ALSO from that line, although more of a reference to Leia's classic white gown. I wish I could see this entire fashion line! ## Mignon ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/06/shutterstock_editorial_12171647aj-1624847878.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Rob Latour/Shutterstock (12171647aj) Mignon BET Awards, Arrivals, Microsoft Theater, Los Angeles, California, USA - 27 Jun 2021 This is fairly unimpeachable! Breezy AND fun. ## Jazmine Sullivan in Gucci ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/06/shutterstock_editorial_12171950q-1624847925.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Broadimage/Shutterstock (12171950q) Jazmine Sullivan BET Awards, Arrivals, Microsoft Theater, Los Angeles, California, USA - 27 Jun 2021 This color is fab on her. ## Ebony Obsidian ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/06/shutterstock_editorial_12171961cn-1624847936.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Jordan Strauss/AP/Shutterstock (12171961cn) Ebony Obsidian arrives at the BET Awards, at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles 2021 BET Awards - Arrivals, Los Angeles, United States - 27 Jun 2021 My note here is that I don't think she needs those gloves. ## Latto ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/06/shutterstock_editorial_12171961eb-1624847969-scaled.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Jordan Strauss/AP/Shutterstock (12171961eb) Latto arrives at the BET Awards, at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles 2021 BET Awards - Arrivals, Los Angeles, United States - 27 Jun 2021 And I LOVE this, although her shoes are giving me massive anxiety. ## Andra Day in Rosie Assoulin ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/06/shutterstock_editorial_12171961hg-1624848041.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Jordan Strauss/AP/Shutterstock (12171961hg) Andra Day arrives at the BET Awards, at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles 2021 BET Awards - Arrivals, Los Angeles, United States - 27 Jun 2021 And this is incredibly pretty -- romantic and summery. ## Andra Day in Rosie Assoulin ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/06/shutterstock_editorial_12171961fc-1624847994.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Jordan Strauss/AP/Shutterstock (12171961fc) Andra Day arrives at the BET Awards, at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles 2021 BET Awards - Arrivals, Los Angeles, United States - 27 Jun 2021 It takes a lot to pull off that dropped waist. Gold star for Andra.
