Here we are, alighting from the Royal Train for a day of engagements, and I don't know about you, but I ASSUME they wore matching PJs on this overnight.

I actually quite like this dress -- it's like Claire Waight Keller was like, "you had issues with fit? LET ME SHOW YOU HOW I CAN FIT THINGS," because the fit on this is excellent.

The fit on the back is perfect. The length is great; it's just a good dress. The cape-detailing on the bodice is long enough to be FASHION but not so aggressive that it impedes her actual movement.

I predict there was some conversation at Givenchy about doing this sort of neckline on Meghan's wedding gown; I also predict SOMEONE made the joke, at least internally, that if people thought her baring a bit of shoulder at Trooping the Color was inappropriate, now she's taking her shoulders and TRAPPING THEM. NO SHOULD SHALL PASS UPON THIS DAY!

These next pics are the ones you're going to be seeing all over the internet today, and with good reason. They are quite charming; both of these women are very good at projecting whatever emotion they want to project in public, but their interactions feel very sincerely affectionate and friendly, and it's great.
