Vanessa won Best Actress for Pieces of a Woman. She's favored extremely sleek looks this week, and this is no different. It's nice enough but it needed a bracelet. It needed ZING.

That's kicky for sure. I thought she was wearing a scrunchie on her wrist, but I think it's a small purse dangling from her fingers.

Is this Venice, or Dancing With The Stars?

I don't really like that bodice -- in general, or here -- but the overall gown is gorgeous. I think just a straight-across cut would have been great.

This looks like something you'd wear to Tina "Beyonce's Mom" Lawson's wearable art gala.

This is lovely and I just wish it were a tad... plummier.

I appreciate that jacket, sir.

"Listen, it's shoes OR a mask. I cannot do both."

Cate wore this jacket in 2018, which I found on Tibi's Twitter. She wore it with the matching pants, which ended up looking like jammies. From what I can see, I DEFINITELY like this better. Mostly because she belted the blazer before, and that's always weird to me.

These pants won Biggest Tragedy.

This is very slick, but I feel like her head-styling is wrong with it.

I love the red mask with that suit. It's the accessory spice she's otherwise a bit lacking.

This is SO pretty. She's giving me Bee Shaffer vibes here, a bit, too.

I want to talk to her about curly hair products, please. All day. (The dress also very much works.)

But how do you REALLY feel?

I wish Tullesplosion here did not have a dropped waist. I also think the sheer height of the slit interrupts it too much, but I almost always think that.

Masks are such a part of Venice that I'm truly surprised more people didn't bring it in this spirit.

THE PATTERN IS FISH.

She won Quirkiest Quirk, and it was well-earned.

I mean, she'd BETTER have gotten a nice Armani.

Is he... part bat?

Is she at the Salzburg Festival while the Von Trapps prepare their escape?

Bye, Brooding Vicar! See you soon, I hope.
