These are the Princesses Sofia and Princess Leonor. They are adorable. I thought they were fraternal twins, but they are actually two years apart, and now that I know that, I can see it in their little faces. One day, they will refuse to wearing matching little sweaters, which is why you force them to do it now. So cute! Thank god it's not 1712 or they'd already each be betrothed to some terrible prince of something or other who was actually madly in love with an older married woman in his father's retinue, who would later give him syphilis. (I read a lot of novels.)

This is Princess Letizia. PANTS AT EASTER. She's also a commoner -- I think she was a journalist, but I'm sure someone in Fug Nation knows for sure -- and now she is a COMMONER IN PANTS AT EASTER. (I'm not really appalled: I myself spent Easter watching the Dodgers and eating cheese, and she seems very chic) The dudes behind her are all, "BORED."

"Do you have two tiny royal children to dress in matching sweaters and trot out at holidays, Liz? YOU DON'T. ADVANTAGE SPAIN. HA! AT LAST WE HAVE AVENGED THAT ARMADA THING."

"Have you, Queen Sofia? HAVE YOU? I AM EVERYWHERE. Including lurking behind this pillar. Waiting for you. In this charming hat."

Speaking of hats, here's Sophie Wessex at some pre-Easter Religious Hoo-Ha For The Queen Mother And Also Princess Margaret, which is the official royal terminology. I love this and find it also INSANE. It's like a raven dive-bombed the part in her hair.

OH HO HO, it looks like someone noticed how much positive press Kate is getting from re-wearing her clothes and took note.

GIRL. You need to learn how to get out of a car. You JUST FLASHED YOUR GRANDMA. And your grandma's THE QUEEN.

I'd also like to note that Beatrice made this face the whole time she was at this event -- The Royal Maundy Service, which sounds mysterious/religious (mystigious? reliterious?) and clearly involves a lot of pomp and circumstance. Fake it 'til you make it, babe -- how confused can you actually be? Y'all go to these things and hold flowers all the time. Pretend you didn't just flash your Grandma/Queen and get on with it. PS: Your hat is cute and I love the coat. Hurry up and marry someone so we can talk about that next. (PS: don't actually worry about hurrying up and marrying some yahoo. If your Grandma/Queen starts making noise about why you have not yet cleaved to Lord BlahdeyFlarg, just tell her you're considering devoting your life to God and Country. And also possibly millinery.)

Princess Eugenie, on the other hand, always spontaneously does the chicken dance when emerging from a vehicle.

That being said, although I think this hat is maybe a little GLUM for Easter, it's terribly pretty and her coat is terrifically chic and mature. Has she gone a bit ginger? So many redheads in the Royal Family. I just love it.

SPEAKING OF.
