"Billy's wearing a curtain? HOLD MY BEER." Taylor Mac is a performance artist, writer, Pulitzer Prize finalist and Genius Grantee who wrote Gary: A Sequel to Titus Andronicus, which was nominated for best play. Each play's writer got to give a little speech about it -- this was in place of a scene or a number from it -- and Taylor's was great. (I feel like Taylor is EXACTLY who you want to be stuck with in an elevator. Although perhaps not in this outfit, as it takes up a fair amount of room.)

Sophia Anne Caruso in Pamella Rolland

That was a giant tonal shift, sartorially speaking! She's in Beetlejuice, and she looks very pretty in this. (I like her strong brow, too.) 

Sutton Foster in Luisa Beccaria

This looked MUCH more purple on TV, but I actually think it's better washed out like this. It reminds me of a nightgown that I once accidentally set on fire as a child.

Bee Shaffer and Anna Wintour (in Givenchy)

Have these two ever looked HAPPIER? Anna is waving her to loving fans, and Bee's got that FAB clutch. I'm going to print this out and stick it on the fridge. 

Rachel Brosnahan in Dior

This is so delicate and pretty on her. Dior, you're finally doing it!

This is beautiful on her, and also VERY costumey. Having said that, I would pay a lot of money to see Danai Gurira star in The Importance of Being Earnest, so....

Candy Spelling

Candy actually has produced a LOT of LEGIT Broadway, including Tootsie this year, and the upcoming Moulin Rouge, so it's totally legit that she's there. (Although I truly believe Candy Spelling should also go wherever she wants.)

This is the cast of Ain't Too Proud, which is the jukebox musical about The Temptations, along with the actual Otis Williams. Everyone looks very handsome but I am concerned about Ephraim's sheer pantlegs -- and also kinda impressed that he wore sheer pantlegs.

Marisa Tomei in Ralph & Russo

She mostly looks fantastic, although that skirt is really sheer and blah blah blah BLAH I simply am out of words about that. Carry on without me.

Sara Bareilles in Oscar de la Renta

She looks great, like an evil Valentine. (I also love her, and she and Groban were great with their bits on the telecast.)

James Corden, Julia Carey

Honestly? Good for you, James Corden. I didn't know you had such a sassy suit within you. It works! (Julia Carey always looks lovely.)

Vanessa Hudgens in Altuzarra

I am not sure why Vanessa was at the Tonys -- other than that she can sing and enjoys musicals. Is she going to be in another one? (She was in the failed Gigi reboot.) Regardless: I just want Vanessa to be happy, and I'm slightly concerned that she was there WITHOUT Austin Butler. I am invested in their love! I also feel like this dress might have been better for the MTV Movie Awards. (Okay, I just stalked his Instagram and he just posted a photo of her face and she's all over his comments EVERYTHING IS FINE.)
