Look...let me put it this way. If you have to wear this, the VMAs IS the place to deploy it.

Rei Ami

I think this looks like you got caught in the back of your Halloween decor box and had to roll your way out but, again...this is at least the one place that this look will sell.

JoJo in Nué

There were MANY a bra top at this event. As these things go, this could be worse. Plaster that endorsement on the side of a bus!

Charli XCX in Saint Laurent

Our notes for this just said ABS. But, technically, this is more than abs and that note could have just said TORSO. Morticia Addams's Torso is an AMAZING name for a band, though.

Sombr in ERL

Lose the corny belt buckle and we are in business, friend. (Sartorially speaking, to be clear.)

Bebe Rexha in Dreaming Elie

This is like if Disneyland had a Halloween-themed Western Saloon, and she was the most popular saloon girl. Again, this benefits from our increasing proximity to Halloween.

Adam Lambert

Speaking of Halloween!

Bella Kay

I did not expect so many Saloon Girl looks at this event! I appreciate that she wore those shoes with this and I wish Madonna had done the same; Madge could NOT walk in her heels last night.

Troye Sivan in Erdem

Honestly...I love it. It's weird and pretty and risky.

Lauren Jauregui

She's got a million rings on, but I think this needed a long, splashy necklace.

Shaboozey in Chrome Hearts

Perfect!

French Montana

This feels like he saw a photo of Shaboozey and was like, "like that!" and didn't quite get there.

Megan Lawless in Bach Mai

Those culottes are NOT how I expected this outfit to end.

Brandon Sklenar (in Saint Laurent) and Hassie Harrison (in Ralph Lauren)

He looks like he's going to sell you off-brand energy drinks out of his trunk and she looks perfect.

Dave Grohl of Nirvana and Jordyn Blum

I feel like Jordyn is disassociating here. I also think Dave is not a turtleneck person. It's feeling a little Steve Jobs.

Orville Peck

I love it. His Keith Haring shirt is so perfect with this.

Ella Bright in archival Cavalli

This is fine! More crucially: When are she and Alexandra Daddario going to play sisters in something?

Emma Bunton in Annie’s Ibiza

This is extremely cute. Welcome back, Opaque Tights Season!

Teddy Swims in Balenciaga shirt, Armani pants

(a) He's SO talented. (b) He's sort of dressed like an extremely groovy youth pastor.

Alex Warren

The valets at this event look SLEEK.

The Folks Wearing Black at the 2026 VMAs Include A Spice Girl and an Oscar Winner

Sadly, this is not the same person.
