I decided to throw a curveball and open with something totally visually unexpected after the cover image of Ava (she's coming). I give enormous points to Kristen Wiig for how unexpected she's been lately, but she looks kind of like she's in costume as Wimbledon. By which I mean the actual courts.

That is GORGEOUS, and easily my favorite thing she's worn all year -- which, as you may recall, has been madly uneven.

This has... plaid, and... hearts? ... and a miniskirt. I want this to pick one thing, and commit. It's like watching one of the last episodes of The Bachelor and it's so freaking wishy-washy and JUST PICK ALREADY, YOU KNOW WHO YOU WANT TO BANG AGAIN THE MOST.  

Tessa Thompson in Altuzarra

The bunny ears embedded in her torso surely are distracting, but the only real thumbs-down I have for this is her bangs. Did the rabbit gnaw them off?

Sofia Coppola in Chanel

This is actually two piece, which were shown on the runway with rather more real-estate in between. It's a good edit for her.

Angelina in Elisabetta Franchi

From what I can see of this, it's pretty good. Very Angelina and not at all risky, but that's fine. Sometimes, Know Thy Brand is good advice.

Jessica Chastain in McQueen

I can't. The top looks like it would rather be doing jazzercize, it cuts into her body, and it's dowdy as all get-out -- astonishing, given that it's part-leotard.

I am a BIT underwhelmed by this, though. Is that unfair? It IS different for her, and as much as I just said it's okay for Angelina to stay in her lane sometimes, I'm equally pleased when Helen backs away from shiny lace. I just don't know if this is the soft placeI thought she'd land.

She's the deaf lead actress of Wonderstruck, and that dress is SO GOOD on her.

This is one of her better LV efforts, for sure. She looks so easily frightened, though. No sudden moves, anyone.

He is a silver fox for me, for sure. One photo service mis-captioned a picture with Gal Gadot hanging all over a silver-haired guy as being Ben Mendelsohn, and I was like, "SCANDALE!!!" Turns out it was her husband and they ust look similar from behind.
