# The Hosts of The Met Gala Brought It In Varying Degrees

My fondest Met Gala-related wish for 2018 is for it to turn out that someone was filming all meetings of the co-chairs -- I assume Anna Wintour dragged them into Conde Nast to discuss napkins and seating plans? -- and we will get to watch the trio of Rihanna, Amal Clooney, and Donatella Versace argue about who got to wear the literal Pope hat. (Obviously, Rihanna won. *Obviously.*)

Also, as this is the first post of the day, the theme of the night was -- for your reference! -- "Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination," although we also heard that the attendees were told they could wear "Sunday Best," which I feel like was a gentle note to let everyone know they didn't have to wear, like, ecclesiastical robes if they didn't feel comfortable going Full Religious Iconography. For once, I actually feel like most people managed to give a nod to the theme -- although a lot of of them sort of slid into Renaissance Painting Person Wearing a Crown. Which means we have a LOT of crowns to eyeball today. Things could be worse.
