A TON of people wore Gucci to this event, because it was Gucci-sponsored, which always makes me wonder what happened with the person who ISN'T wearing Gucci. Is she in a fight with Gucci? Did Gucci send her something mad hideous? I NEED TO KNOW. Anyway. Kate Hudson IS in Gucci and she was 100% correct to put this on. She looks fantastic.

This is Top Shop. Just kidding. It's also Gucci. She looks very Salma Hayek in it, which is obviously not a bad thing.

Michelle Rodriguez

This dress is actually great on her, even if she does seem to be compensating for an overly-high leg slit by using her purse as camouflage. (Obviously, I feel like she fell down on the shoe job.)

Dakota Johnson

I feel like this dress is a bit of a snooze on her. I'm worried that Dakota -- who I really loved in Ben and Kate -- might be entering a period of her career where she's all snoozed-up as a way to look serious despite the fact that she's starring in a potentially fairly cheesy movie full of awkward sex, and that isn't going to help anything. At least wear some jewelry, Dakota! Visual interest in the form of jewels! DISTRACT US WITH BLING.

Fugs and Fabs: The LACMA Art and Film Gala, Part I

This particular party always brings out the A list, and this year was no exception. It's kind of like all the celebs are slowly crawling out of their late summer vacation holes (it's been hot in Los Angeles until this past weekend, when we all burst into delighted tears at the rain and put on our boots and pretended it wasn't going to heat up again before the end of the week) and getting into awards season shape. To which I say: bring it on. In fact, so many people popped up at this thing that I've had to break it into three courses. Like a meal.
