This is the glory of Tracee Ellis Ross: She's wearing what someone would've donned for a funeral on the original Dynasty, and yet she's bringing it energy and life. It's a FINE dress; but the only reason I'm really even looking twice at this is because of her face.

She's headed into the Late Show, presumably fresh off another appearance, but I enjoy that this gives off the aura of I Run All My Errands in A Sequined Muu Muu And Kicks. This is part of her 45-piece collection for JC Penney, which makes sense, as otherwise I am not sure why she would wear that in a professional capacity unless it had a belt that was MISERABLY itchy and she tore it off in the limo. (It does not seem to have a cinching mechanism at JCP.)

This is something I think of as Aggressively Whatever. There's not much to latch onto, but not enough to despise; I have no real feelings about it at all. However, it's also from her JCP line; it's the kind of thing that I suspect TER can pull off but mere mortals should leave on the rack. However, I love her lipstick, and her smile that suggests she's got a secret. WHICH SHE DOES.

AMEN, Tracee. You speak the truth. Your hidden mantra explains 90 percent of the things I have put in online shopping carts in the past month. Maybe I'll put that shirt in too.
