I honestly thought EVERYONE was going to be wearing vintage OdlR, but I've been wrong before and will be wrong again. This dress is very simple and quite beautiful. And also apparently this ISN'T vintage? It FEELS vintage but Vogue reports that it's actually based on a 1981 Halston number that Bianca Jagger wore. I really wanted to see more vintage, but that is still quite clever. (Someone else reported said Jagger dress was actually Dior which...makes more sense looking at it? I don't know! It's 2:22am as I am typing this right now! I feel like someone could tell me that I MYSELF am Christian Dior and I'd be like "wow interesting.")

I laughed at this. (Like, in a good way.) The dress is absolutely fine but I do think the sunglasses, although silly, do sort of sell it? Americans love sunglasses! (A man did come up to me and Heather in London once and told us he knew we were Americans because we were wearing sunglasses.)

Justin is in a suit designed by a line of his owning -- he does look good in it? -- and I believe those are Nikes for but a long moment, I thought they were Crocs. And honestly, wearing Crocs to an American-themed Met Gala would be kinda genius?

"Why did I decide to come to this thing?" (She looks fine but also forgettable but at least Hearst is an American designer!)

I think this is the first pic of this batch where I really thought, "WAIT, but what's happening BEHIND YOU?" Although she looks absolutely fine.

Instagram was divided over whether this was Tom Ford or Alexander McQueen and whilst I think it's nuts that hardly anyone wore Tom Ford, it feels like McQueen to me.

I do love the IDEA of this look -- it has a fun, 60s feel -- but I'm not sure that she has the red carpet presence required for such a HAT! It's not her fault that Kacey Musgraves already wore this hat (just Sunday night!) with a bit more punch but...yeah. (I've heard that her reality show is basically about how miserable social media feedback makes her and I just want to tell her to take her millions and go to college and learn marine biology or whatever.)

I don't totally know if I think he's personally selling this, but I am honestly really surprised how few men went for the American Rock n Roll vibe. It's....right there? This theme is so vague! And yet so many people sort of just wore whatever and still missed the mark!
