(Photo by Frazer Harrison/WireImage) This is phenomenal, from the cut to the shimmery material, which mixes mermaid and ocean. I also appreciate that her dress's bodice looks like two shells, the likes of which Arial should have emerged from at her fateful concert, when she was instead off gallivanting. It's just perfect and she looks delightful. ## Melissa McCarthy ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/05/shutterstock_editorial_13904303ev-1683605779.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Chelsea Lauren/Shutterstock (13904303ev) Melissa McCarthy 'The Little Mermaid' world premiere, Arrivals, Hollywood, California, USA - 08 May 2023 This is also dramatic and soapy, in a very Ursula way -- this would be her idea of undersea camouflage, basically. ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/05/shutterstock_editorial_13904303gd-1683605746.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Chelsea Lauren/Shutterstock (13904303gd) Melissa McCarthy 'The Little Mermaid' world premiere, Arrivals, Hollywood, California, USA - 08 May 2023 I mean, if you're going to give me a close-up of the gigantic ring, I'm going to share it. ## with Javier Bardem ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/05/shutterstock_editorial_13904303dv-1683605832.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Chelsea Lauren/Shutterstock (13904303dv) Melissa McCarthy and Javier Bardem 'The Little Mermaid' world premiere, Arrivals, Hollywood, California, USA - 08 May 2023 Javier plays King Triton, and I'm looking at this and wishing that Ursula and Triton could have had a torrid affair. Or at least a Miss Hannigan/Daddy Warbucks situation. ## Noma Dumezweni ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/05/GettyImages-1488486725-1683607073.jpg) HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA - MAY 08: Noma Dumezweni attends the world premiere of Disney's "The Little Mermaid" on May 08, 2023 in Hollywood, California. (Photo by Matt Winkelmeyer/GA/The Hollywood Reporter via Getty Images) Noma plays Queen Selina, wife of Triton, a new character they added for the movie. I rather like this on her, and I am glad Triton ISN'T stepping out on her with a sea witch. ## Jonah Hauer-King ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/05/shutterstock_editorial_13904303hl-1683605702.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Chelsea Lauren/Shutterstock (13904303hl) Jonah Hauer-King 'The Little Mermaid' world premiere, Arrivals, Hollywood, California, USA - 08 May 2023 Here is your lovable dingbat Prince Eric. Or at least, Eric SEEMED like a dingbat to me, but I guess for some of that time he was brainwashed. ## Daveed Diggs ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/05/shutterstock_editorial_13904303dy-1683605791.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Chelsea Lauren/Shutterstock (13904303dy) Daveed Diggs 'The Little Mermaid' world premiere, Arrivals, Hollywood, California, USA - 08 May 2023 He plays Sebastian the Crab. Apparently they rewrote some of "Kiss the Girl" to address consent issues. Visually the original made it pretty clear Ariel wanted him to kiss her, I think, but I get being concerned that the second verse encourages kids to act first and apologize later. Anyway, I love this man for wearing what looks like vertical sand art. ## Awkwafina in Simone Rocha ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/05/shutterstock_editorial_13904303ju-1683605635.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Chelsea Lauren/Shutterstock (13904303ju) Awkwafina 'The Little Mermaid' world premiere, Arrivals, Hollywood, California, USA - 08 May 2023 She's your Scuttle, Inventor of the Dinglehopper. And while I could live with most of this, I want to take a dinglehopper to those nylon socks so that she's compelled to remove them. ## Simone Ashley in Versace ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/05/shutterstock_editorial_13904303kh-1683605608.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Chelsea Lauren/Shutterstock (13904303kh) Simone Ashley 'The Little Mermaid' world premiere, Arrivals, Hollywood, California, USA - 08 May 2023 She is just the most gorgeous, but I continue not to love her choices. That pink clump looks so cumbersome. This dress could pass at the Met Gala if the theme were soap operas, and the dress represented someone hurling a Cosmo at somebody else. But that's about it. ## Sienna King ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/05/shutterstock_editorial_13904303dq-1683605815.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Chelsea Lauren/Shutterstock (13904303dq) Sienna King 'The Little Mermaid' world premiere, Arrivals, Hollywood, California, USA - 08 May 2023 Sienna plays one of Ariel's sisters, as does Simone in fact. I wanted to like this but the bigger the photo got, and the closer I looked, the more it just seemed semi-homemade. ## Jacob Tremblay ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/05/shutterstock_editorial_13904303da-1683605859.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Chelsea Lauren/Shutterstock (13904303da) Jacob Tremblay 'The Little Mermaid' world premiere, Arrivals, Hollywood, California, USA - 08 May 2023 Yes, this IS the tot from Room, 16 now and playing Flounder. SUNRISE, SUNSET. ## John Stamos ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/05/shutterstock_editorial_13904303iw-1683605661.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Chelsea Lauren/Shutterstock (13904303iw) John Stamos 'The Little Mermaid' world premiere, Arrivals, Hollywood, California, USA - 08 May 2023 I can't find "chef" or "Chef Louis" on the cast list for this movie, so I've no idea who will take on "Les Poissons." John Stamos here did it in the televised production and I believe also on stage? Maybe he'll do it again? Or maybe they cut it. He looks very handsome though. ## Chloe Bailey ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/05/shutterstock_editorial_13904303kb-1683605594.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Chelsea Lauren/Shutterstock (13904303kb) Chloe Bailey 'The Little Mermaid' world premiere, Arrivals, Hollywood, California, USA - 08 May 2023 Their mentor was Beyonce, and this DEFINITELY seems like something Beyonce would commission for herself. It's like an ode. ## Marsai Martin in Giambattista Valli ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/05/shutterstock_editorial_13904303bv-1683605897.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Chelsea Lauren/Shutterstock (13904303bv) Marsai Martin 'The Little Mermaid' world premiere, Arrivals, Hollywood, California, USA - 08 May 2023 That's a wee pinchy on one side, and the shoulders look like Mr. Snuffleupagus, but she's selling it. ## Art Malik ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/05/shutterstock_editorial_13904303gl-1683605725.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Chelsea Lauren/Shutterstock (13904303gl) Art Malik 'The Little Mermaid' world premiere, Arrivals, Hollywood, California, USA - 08 May 2023 He plays Prince Eric's trusted valet, a man who probably would NOT have chosen those pants for himself if they were so wrinkle prone. ## Anika Noni Rose ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/05/shutterstock_editorial_13904303ec-1683605802.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Chelsea Lauren/Shutterstock (13904303ec) Anika Noni Rose 'The Little Mermaid' world premiere, Arrivals, Hollywood, California, USA - 08 May 2023 Princess Tiana came! And looking like a queen herself, although that's ALSO a tad pinchy. That seems to be going around. ## Tamera Mowry-Housley and Tia Mowry ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/05/shutterstock_editorial_13904303js-1683605620.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Chelsea Lauren/Shutterstock (13904303js) Tamera Mowry-Housley and Tia Mowry 'The Little Mermaid' world premiere, Arrivals, Hollywood, California, USA - 08 May 2023 I LOVE Tamera's ombre pleats, and Tia's skirt is cute, too -- it's vaguely aquatic? Like lovely lilypads. ## Heidi Klum ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/05/shutterstock_editorial_13904303im-1683605648.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Chelsea Lauren/Shutterstock (13904303im) Heidi Klum 'The Little Mermaid' world premiere, Arrivals, Hollywood, California, USA - 08 May 2023 I would like to give her Simone Ashley's silver shoes, and find Simone a different pair. There's pretty workmanship in this dress, but it's more of an ode to Tinkerbell than anything to do with this movie. ## Kelly Rowland in Prabal Gurung ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/05/shutterstock_editorial_13904303ii-1683605675.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Chelsea Lauren/Shutterstock (13904303ii) Kelly Rowland 'The Little Mermaid' world premiere, Arrivals, Hollywood, California, USA - 08 May 2023 This is very beachy. ## Kimiko Glenn ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/05/shutterstock_editorial_13904303gs-1683605689.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Chelsea Lauren/Shutterstock (13904303gs) Kimiko 'The Little Mermaid' world premiere, Arrivals, Hollywood, California, USA - 08 May 2023 This might be useful as a lap desk when she sits down. ## Lorena Andrea ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/05/shutterstock_editorial_13904303ho-1683605713.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Chelsea Lauren/Shutterstock (13904303ho) Lorena Andrea 'The Little Mermaid' world premiere, Arrivals, Hollywood, California, USA - 08 May 2023 Gorgeous. ## Offset, with Kalea and Kulture ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/05/shutterstock_editorial_13904303fe-1683605737.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Chelsea Lauren/Shutterstock (13904303fe) Offset with daughters Kalea Marie Cephus and Kulture Kiari Cephus 'The Little Mermaid' world premiere, Arrivals, Hollywood, California, USA - 08 May 2023 This is all very OTT, but if you can do it, why NOT, I guess? His little girls are adorable and probably had the time of their lives fangirling over Halle. And he looks very spiffy. ## Yvette Nicole Brown ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/05/shutterstock_editorial_13904303eg-1683605761.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Chelsea Lauren/Shutterstock (13904303eg) Yvette Nicole Brown 'The Little Mermaid' world premiere, Arrivals, Hollywood, California, USA - 08 May 2023 This is great. ## Cameron Hamilton and Lauren Hamilton ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/05/shutterstock_editorial_13904303s-1683605580.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Chelsea Lauren/Shutterstock (13904303s) Cameron Hamilton and Lauren Hamilton 'The Little Mermaid' world premiere, Arrivals, Hollywood, California, USA - 08 May 2023 I gather they were on Love Is Blind? Those sunbursts on her shoulders are super cool; I'm glad Love can now see them. ## Stephanie Beatriz ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/05/shutterstock_editorial_13904303ch-1683605870.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Chelsea Lauren/Shutterstock (13904303ch) Stephanie Beatriz 'The Little Mermaid' world premiere, Arrivals, Hollywood, California, USA - 08 May 2023 Oh no. We are at Defcon Hoik. ## Antonio Neville ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/05/shutterstock_editorial_13904303ak-1683605912.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Chelsea Lauren/Shutterstock (13904303ak) Antonio Neville 'The Little Mermaid' world premiere, Arrivals, Hollywood, California, USA - 08 May 2023 That could be thematic right? Like an ode to... seaweed, or plankton? ## Nina West ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/05/shutterstock_editorial_13904303ax-1683605881.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Chelsea Lauren/Shutterstock (13904303ax) Nina West 'The Little Mermaid' world premiere, Arrivals, Hollywood, California, USA - 08 May 2023 This is a great Disneyfied take on Ursula. The scroll seems to be the spell she utters: "Beluga, sevruga, come winds of the Caspian Sea // Larynxes, glossitis // Et max laryngitis // La voce to me!" I love it. And I BELIEVE Nina is currently in Hairspray here in L.A., which per Instagram was visited by... ## Jodi Benson ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/05/shutterstock_editorial_13904303cr-1683605846.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Chelsea Lauren/Shutterstock (13904303cr) Jodi Benson 'The Little Mermaid' world premiere, Arrivals, Hollywood, California, USA - 08 May 2023 ... the O.G. Ariel herself. She looks delightful, too. I saw her once as Florence in "Chess," and I just love her voice, and love that she's a supportive part of passing the torch.
