I love this photo. The Dodgers got a lot of trash-talking about only winning a BS championship in 2020 because it was a shortened season -- never mind that everyone was playing under the same restrictions and we're the team that pulled it off!! -- so this one is extra sweet. This team WENT THROUGH IT physically this year. One of our other best pitchers just, like....stepped off the mound wonky one day and was out for the year!!

I love photos of joyous athletes levitating and I downloaded a lot of them. This was also me on Wednesday night in my home!!! But not as athletically.

Mookie Betts -- I love him so much and he had a terrible slump in the series against the Padres, which was a really TOUGH series -- is like HEY GUYS WAIT FOR ME, WAIT!!

Amazing for Shohei to come to the Dodgers because he wanted to win a championship and then DO IT. (He hurt his shoulder in game 2 and I am slightly concerned about that, but it's also a problem for next season.) He is a delight. It's also delightful that this marks five years in a row that a Will Smith has won a World Series. The Dodgers Will Smith got 2020 and this one; the pitcher Will Smith won in '21, '22. and '23 (on three different teams). It is fun when pitcher Will Smith ends up facing Dodger catcher Will Smith.
Freddie Freeman

All the love for our MVP, Freddie Freeman, who was A BEAST and who also seems like the nicest person. He also went through it this year; he was playing on a VERY VERY messed up ankle, a stress fracture in his finger, and his little boy Max was VERY sick and paralysed from a virus earlier this year. Max is doing fine now! Anyway, we love Freddie in this house.
Walker Buehler

Are we not entertained? Buehler came back from his second Tommy John this year and was MID at best in the few regular season games he pitched. But he's always been a BEAST in the post-season and he was here, as well. Nothing is more exciting than a starting pitching coming out of the bullpen to win the whole thing.
Tommy Edman and Mookie Betts

Again, who doesn't love Mookie? Even when he was on the Red Sox, I loved Mookie. The Dodgers got Tommy Edman in a trade and he didn't even play until August and he was an AMAZING pick-up. I love Tommy.

I also enjoy celebratory yelling.

AND HUGS!!! We only had Teo -- your All Star Game home run champion!! -- this one year and I really hope they re-sign him. He's a great player but also he seems like a TREAT and he and Shohei are bffs.
Kiké Hernández

Kiké Hernández -- who was on the 2020 team, then played for the Red Sox and....one other team I'm forgetting? -- came back this season and honestly, while technically they got him back because he's a great utility player who is always lights out in the post-season, I mostly think they got him back for VIBES. He's the best. This is his little girl Penelope.
Kiké Hernández and Clayton Kershaw

Kersh pitched a decent few games this season until his old grandpa-man body gave out on his again -- he's pitched a LOT of innings and I honestly don't know if his body works anymore. (He is coming back next year, though, allegedly.) I'm very happy he got to win another one with us. I also like that he appears to be cradling his child here.
Kiké Hernández and Billie Jean King

I'm glad Kiké also enthusiastically embraced Billie Jean King, one of the Dodgers owners, and a woman I assume is her wife!

I WANT TO MAKE MAGIC SMILE LIKE THAT. (He is also an owner, in addition to being AN AMERICAN TREASURE.)
Anthony Banda

POP THE BOTTLES. (There is nothing more amusing to me than watching these celebrations and realizing that some of these dudes, like our reliever Anthony Banda, are TATTED UP.)
Freddie Freeman

This was from Game One, but I had to salute Freddie's ICONIC walk-off grand slam. VERY reminiscent of the Kirk Gibson home run -- to the point where the ball was actually even hit at the exact same time of night. Unforgettable. What a thrill.
