We of course can't find this now, but before she turned up, Jess saw a press release describing this as simply a white sequined Calvin Klein, and we drummed up an image of something much simpler, and longer, and... honestly, better, even if our mind's eye is a mite traditional. I applaud its audacity. But it's basically a strapless bra with embellishments. (It IS all one dress, despite how the front makes it look.)

It also relies HEAVILY on her having her train ably wrankled; in the precious slide it looked so limp back there, like she leaned up against something she shoudn't have.

The shoes are CK as well, though, and they are great. The dress clearly had to be short if she wanted these to be the star of the show. I find the asymmetry rather witty. Which, reading back that sentence, sounds hella pretentious. They are like little foot bracelets, though, and you know how we feel about THAT accessory.

At the Independent Spirit Awards, she went much breezier in this neon tweedy number. I want to like it. I'm SO CLOSE. I would havIe preferred it without the superfluous and uneven lace, but what really bothers me is that it looks like Karl taped it around her body. It's very boxy and I think it might almost be dominating her, which is hard to do.

Let's relax with these instead.
