Monty Williams

Monty, a former player and assistant coach, got the Sager Strong Award in honor of the late broadcaster and exuberant dresser Craig Sager. He was presented with a loud jacket in Sager's honor, which is just awesome. I wanted to open with that because the degree to which the NBA players and Sager's colleagues rallied for Sager was really touching, and it's a nice legacy for him to recognize other people who've responded to being dealt a shitty hand with class and strength.

Jada Pinkett-Smith

And then there's Jada, who is dressed as if a really, REALLY expensive cake is trying to seduce you.

Naomi Campbell

Naomi Campbell looks like she's auditioning to play a 15-year old in a rom-com.

Hailey Baldwin

She was captioned in all these as "Hailey Rhode Baldwin." SINCE WHEN. I feel a lot of SINCE WHEN about her, actually.

Monica

That skirt is the beginnings of something totally cute, a journey which her shirt cut tragically short.

Nick Cannon

SOMEBODY wants to be in a murder mystery with Princess Anne, methinks.

Baron Davis

This feels like a dude who was dressing himself off the instructions of his stylist, except he lost the e-mail and tried to wing it. Also, those shoes have to be custom, right? Then why do they look too big in the back there (the one on the right)?

James Harden

I love it.

Draymond Green

I feel like Draymond would be SO ANNOYED that one of our photo services captioned him merely as, "GUEST." He also has a long way to go before he reaches the Noted Kookery of Russell Westbrook (which is on display later this afternoon).

Miles Brown

He fits right in. Adorable.

Von Miller

I am confused by this, and strangely attracted to it.

John Wall

YES. Very dapper.

Wanda Durant

KD didn't seem to attend, but his mom did, and I have to give her credit for looking really good. The jewelry, dress, and shoe colors all pop together.

Chadwick Boseman

This is aggressively OH OKAY FINE compared to the vividness of so many of the others

Vince Carter and Candace Parker

FINALLY some WNBA up in here. There should be more. Vince looks fine, but his tie is a tad goofy with the suit

Dirk Nowitzki

Dirk was ALSO listed as "guest." He even wore Mavericks blue, which should be a helpful clue. And how do photographers not recognize the teeth.

Russell Westbrook

This is the most regular thing he's ever worn. He looks great, but I miss the insanity.

Nicki Minaj

... Sure, fine. I'm sure to her this says "basketball."

Mallory Edens

If my Googling is right, she's the daughter of the Bucks owner and has occasionally repped the team. She also appears to be repping the International I'm Going To Make You Clutch Your Pearls and Shriek Society.

Fabulous

Those are a LOT of merit badges. He must be an Eagle Scout.

2 Chainz

Is it simplistic of me to expect 2 Chainz not to triple up on them? Two is two is 2.

Drake

Drake isn't sure why he's there, or what it all means, but he'd really like to buy you a drink and gaze into your face and discuss Tolstoy while you use a bunch of Snapchat filters.

Bryshere Grey

Bryshere is MUCH better at the snappy white suit.

The NBA Awards are a Deliciously Kooky Thing

Now I kind of wish I'd watched.
