Tiffany Haddish

Blah blah I wish her pants were a LITTLE shorter, but she more or less looks fantastic here, and she is going to be GREAT in this movie.

Kate Beckinsale in Alberta Ferretti

This is DEEPLY on brand for her, but also pretty good?? She's going to be surprisingly funny in this movie. (Kate Beckinsale IS funny.)

Niecy Nash

Niecy literally always looks good. I need to her to teach a Learning Annex class about this.

Issa Rae

This is pleasantly caftan-adjacent in a way that makes me want to have an aperol spritz with her on a lanai. (Issa Rae is going to be VERY amusing in this movie. I feel like she's not on the team, but she's Tiffany's sensible but kind younger sister who works at the mayor's office and breaks the news to her that her beloved park basketball court is in danger of being turned into condos.)

Maria Menounos

This has a real, "oh, I actually am on my vacation right now." It's VERY easy breezy. (Maria is not in the movie. Sorry, Maria.)

Robin Roberts

This needs a hoik and I might have done a metallic shoe, but I LOVE Robin. (Robin will appear in the film as herself, obviously, at the big climax at the tournament.)

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

Kareem! As elegant as ever. (I love him so much. Did you know that he's a writer on the new Veronica Mars? He is a true renaissance man. I also wish he were UCLA's new head basketball coach but I am sure he doesn't have time for the pain.)

Shaquille O'Neal, with Shareef O'Neal and Shaqir O'Neal

The Sons O'Neal are very chic young men!

2 Chainz

It's KILLING ME not to make the Dad Joke just sitting here: "Looks like a lot more than just 2 Chainz!!!" Thank you, I will be here all week!

J. B. Smoove

This is, as I promised, snazzy.

Giannis Antetokounmpo

He looks good -- someone needs to come over and straight out his shirt under there, though. He won MVP for the just-completed season, and it is here that I admit that I basically only pay attention to the NBA once the play-offs start (the NBA play-offs take like MONTHS though) and I am not wholly sure of my ability to judge whether or not that is correct. I mean, from what I saw in the play-offs, he IS damn good. On the other hand, the Bucks didn't even make the finals. Can someone BE MVP if their team doesn't make the finals? That's sort of an existential question, I guess -- I know it happens.

Lou Williams and family

Lou won Best Sixth Man -- he's on the Clippers. ( The Clippers were not even that good this year!) He looks great, though -- that pocket square is good! -- and the kids are VERY cute. The little one brought her purse!

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, and McKenzie Caldwell-Pope

The Caldwell-Popes might be recruiting for their cult at this event. It is a pretty chic cult, though.

Charles Barkley, Chris Tucker

I must confess that I LOVE Sir Charles.

Luka Doncic

This kid won Rookie of the Year -- he plays for the Mavericks, and he's only 20 years old. He looks good! There's been some strong pocket square work at this event.

Jack McClinton

JACK. What kind of choices have you made that had brought us to this place?!?!

Nneka Ogwumike

She is on the Sparks -- my friends Jason and Tiffany are big Sparks fans, and therefore I always feel very pre-disposed to Sparks players -- and this dress is CUTE.

Josh Richardson

This suit is great -- and I love his bag. (He's on the Heat.)

Michael Ealy

Michael Ealy is like, "I just dropped by because I thought this would be fun!"

People Looked Generally Snazzy at the NBA Awards

I have an IDEA.
