I forgot she ever had this hair -- her next two movies were Red Eye and Wedding Crashers, where she had dark hair but not THIS hair. I love when the archives can still surprise me. Her dress is okay, but who even cares when she and Ryan Gosling are drinking each other's essence in the poster over her shoulder.

Listen, Ryan, your lungs are your business,  I guess, but you CAN clean shoes, you know.

Why do ultra-low-rise zip-front joggers even exist? You can't jog in them. You still have to zip them. You probably can't sit in them without them sliding down. It's a real poser.

James Marsden and Lisa Linde

Lisa's blush appears to match her hair flower. These two also have VERY nice Crest smiles.

Gena looks great! Her scarf game is rich.

One thing I love about these is imagining going back in time and whispering in her ear, "In 2015, you will marry Richard Marx, and he will become SUPER politically vocal on Twitter because he hates the president, who by the way is Donald Trump." I am curious which part of that sentence would have surprised her the most.

This year was a HEYDAY for dresses over pants. It did not work.

Wait, she COULD have worn it as a dress but she knotted it at knee level just for this?!?

Sanity prevails in the form of a great suit.

She looks cute! 2004 is representing itself reasonably here.

And of course Sam Shepard was there, doing good work as Sam Shepard.

Ryan and Rachel

Ryan seriously looks like he hasn't slept in three days. These two supposedly HATED each other during filming and then got together in 2005 (this is 2004). I wonder if Rachel would have been surprised if I'd popped back to tell HER the news. I'm thinking... no.

Sixteen Years Ago, People Opened The Notebook
That sounds like a horror premise.
