So, [this is an event that the Academy hosts every year](https://www.gofugyourself.com/tag/oscars-luncheon?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io), where Oscar nominees show up to a luncheon and celebrate their nominations and pose for photos (and apparently this year, listened to the show producers yell at them to BE BRIEF IN THEIR SPEECH-MAKING!!!!). I regret to inform you that both Emma Stone and Olivia Colman were absent, on the women's side -- Colman is, I think, filming *The Crown*, and Stone is shooting the *Zombieland* sequel. For the dudes, only Adam Driver was absent, as far as I could tell. He was at the DGAs over the weekend, but he's also filming the new Star Wars movie right now and the BAFTAs are this weekend, so he might have gone back to the UK already. (Christian Bale didn't walk the red carpet, that I saw, but[ he made it in time for the class photo, which always is delightful to me](https://variety.com/2019/film/news/oscar-class-photo-2019-1203127985/?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io).) There is something soothing to me in thinking that even movie stars sometimes cannot get out of work on a weekday to go flarg around. Let's look at outfits!
