*1917* is the latest from Sam Mendes -- it is, [as you might guess from the title, about World War I and vaguely about his grandfather](https://time.com/5743259/1917-movie-sam-mendes/?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io) \-- and it is apparently *extremely* good. It is, astonishingly, constructed to appear as if the entire film is one shot (which is extremely complicated to pull off) and the performances are supposed to be excellent. I am getting very excited about the concept of going to all the grown-up movies this holiday season. (Note: In addition to the many good-looking good lookers in this post, this movie ALSO has Colin Firth and BumblebeeTuna Chickenofthesea, neither of whom attended the premiere. Sign me up!)
