Jessica Chastain in No. 21
Sigh. This needed better shoes. I think strappy would be better, because the length is a bit awkward, so the chunky pumps here choke up on her ankles as the dress chows down on them. It is also, as is her general custom, too tight on her and ends up almost dowdy, which is unfortunate.
It looked MILDLY better in motion, except that's when I noticed that the seam down the front bisects it such that the pattern doesn't match, which just looks messy.
Jess Weixler in Jason Wu
Wow. I really, really enjoy her as an actress, from what I've seen, but this dress is an oppressive mess. Jason Wu, WHAT DID YOU DO.
Paola Nunez
Paola is one of Jess's co-stars. That skirt is both pretty, and a bit unsettling. I do not know many people who bejewel their floral arrangements.
Sydney Lucas
Sydney is also on the show, and you may know her as a Tony nominee from Fun Home (she sang on the broadcast). She was so good; that song is a tricky emotional lynchpin of the show, and for her to sing it without the context of the REST of the show and still have it land AND be a young teenager at the time... well, I'm glad to see her still at it, is what I'm saying. Three cheers for the youngs.
Pierce Brosnan
Even Pierce tips his hat to her. Pierce, by the way, is playing a role that belonged to Sam Neill originally. THAT is quite a casting swerve.
