I sadly don't have a fashion credit here. This was in September of 2006 when the film premiered in Venice, and she looks... incredible. This is some Old Hollywood screen siren stuff right here and it's gorgeous. She glows. She is HELEN EFFING MIRREN. The legend has only grown.

This is.... not great, truly (at the UK premiere). It's FINE. But there is one thing she did that I cherish deeply...

... and it's that for half the night she wore her classes tucked up onto her neck for easy access.

This is the New York screening, for which she dressed oddly like a Regency heroine. But one who would buy and sell Mr. Bingley three times before she waited around for him to grow a spine. Hey, she tried something.

And, the LA premiere, for which she broke tradition and wore a sultry red. I love the color, don't love the satin, but would pledge myself to that necklace forever.

Samantha Morton dropped by one of these, and it struck me here how much her face reminds me of Emma Corrin's (our new Princess Di).

Hollywood's OTHER Samantha M also showed up, looking perfectly semi-formal and very cute.

Here is a blast from the past: Peta Wilson, of La Femme Nikita. I totally forgot about her, which it seems like this dress was designed to make me NOT do. This is like someone ran over it before the dye was set.

And Donna, eight years removed from Baywatch, presumably came because she... just kinda felt like it.

I am into Minnie's long suede coat.

This is boring and pleasant and so much better than some of her more infamous slips. She looks like she's on her way to Bletchley to break some codes.

Many moons and girlfriends ago, Michael Sheen played Tony Blair. I would love to go back and hand him a copy of Twilight and be like, "Get ready, dude, you're absolutely in this."
