I've only seen a couple episodes of the new *Queer Eye*, but I enjoyed the ones I did. Honestly, the most powerful one was when Karamo happened to be driving ([they swear this was a coincidence](https://www.tvguide.com/news/queer-eye-karamo-brown-police/?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io)) when the makeover subject's cop friend pulled them over, and pretended it was real before identifying himself with a cackle; Karamo's obvious discomfort at this interaction, as a black homosexual man in the South who wasn't sure what he was walking into, led to conversations between him and the actual subject -- also a cop -- that were pretty raw and unexpected for a show that mostly just wants to make people look snazzy and live and feel better. I love it when people sneak in a little learning with their hugging.
