At first I was like, "Oh, sure, fine, whatever," and then I thought, "Well, maybe she's pulling this off as well as it can be done, but... did it NEED to be done?" And then the length started to bug me and the shoes looked like 1985 and now I'm distracted and humming a LOT of Huey Lewis. It's... not terrible, but also, I think, maybe not cool enough.

And then here's this, which is TRYING to be cool enough and coming close except for what a hot overall mess she looks. The leather skirt is crinkly and not precise enough of a high-waisted pencil-cut to be chic. The shoes are an afterthought. And the hair looks like she brushed it with acid.

She changed into this, which is REALLY CLOSE to being cool, and the shoes are good (why wasn't she wearing those earlier?), but... is it a sweater SEWN to a tiny skirt? Or tucked into one?

This actually seems to prove it's sewn together, and in this lighting it seems a bit more cheaply done, perhaps. I don't hate it -- I actually might like it -- but in this case I am too distracted by the crispy hair to concentrate. I know she's beachy, but... that looks like a convertible driven up and down PCH was her hairdryer.
