Taylor Swift in Julien Macdonald

I will say that, as "Artist of the Decade" goes, Taylor Swift is a good pick. She sang a very small handful of her hits and could have done several more. I would have traded "I Knew You Were Trouble" for "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together," and I would maybe have smirkingly put that one after "Lover," but hey, not my call. This is perfectly fine -- good color, and the shorts aspect does feel very Mid-Range Music-Related Awards Show -- and it looked much better on the telecast than it does in this photo. But I don't know about the boots with it.

Selena Gomez in Versace

Donatella, what did Selena do to upset you? This would be average at best if it fit, but it's ghastly because it doesn't.

Megan Thee Stallion

This is much better, but also a little pinchy on the boobs. I assume these women met in the bathroom and traded numbing ointments.

Katherine Langford in Rodarte

That dress is beautiful, and that hair and makeup looks like a CW show about Anne Boleyn.

Ester Dean

Ester is a singer/songwriter (she wrote "Firework" for Katy Perry, among many others), and she looks DIVINE in this dress.

Cobie Smulders in Dundas

I think this would work better if the minidress wasn't bunching up on her.

Misty Copeland

Misty performed a pas de deux during "Lover," and it was awesome. I thought that was a dreamy staging of that song -- it was super romantic and full of yearning. I cannot rightly say I like this outfit, but I do think she looks fantastic in it. Both things can be true. It's also the edgiest thing I've seen her wear.

She is the host of the upcoming Flirty Dancing, based on an existing UK show on which people separately learn a dance and then meet for the first time while performing it together. It looks transcendently dumb. She however does not. This is a very nice simple dress.

Of course Sofia Carson is there. She's EVERYWHERE. I stand by my assertion that she will be the this year's 2:30 arrival to the Golden Globes. And you know what? DO IT, because she's never boring.
