I truly think this is one of the best looks she's ever worn. It's like Glam Tropical Retro, and she's working it.

She performed in this and it was fine? But backstage here it looks a bit Real Housewives of Miami.

I am irked that you can't really see her boots here as well as you could see them on stage. They are JAZZY. Honestly, this is totally Country Star Guest Appearance on Dynasty but I also sort of loved it and felt like it was perfect for the event. So!

Sure! This works! I appreciate a little Train Drama at my awards shows!
Clint Black and Lisa Hartman Black

I have a confession: For a LONG time as a youth, I thought "Lisa Hartman" was an Investigative Reporter. WHY? I have no idea. She was actually on Knots Landing, and this seems like a good time for my fave sentence from her Wiki, about that role: "Hartman was popular with audiences, and when Ciji was murdered off-screen in 1983, there was a public uproar. As a solution, Hartman was brought back on the show as Cathy Geary, also a singer, who later marries an unbalanced televangelist played by a young Alec Baldwin." Excuse me, but please tell me this is streaming currently? Anyway, she looks great and he looks like Clint Black!

I'm sorry, ladies, but I simply cannot return to a time when we were belting things indiscriminately. I just do not have the emotional wherewithal.
Cam

This sort of looks like what you'd see on Glinda in a modernized adaptation of The Wizard of Oz.
Lily Aldridge in Proenza Schouler

I love Proenza, so I'm always excited to see them on the red carpet -- it hardly ever happens -- but this feels just a little underbaked. I sympathize, though, because when you're not a performer or a nominee (she just presented), you don't want to show up OVERLY baked.
Lauren Alaina

This is QUITE baked, for example. But also sort of fun? (I also am quite sure my Barbie had this outfit and you could remove the ruffled bit and turn it into a skirt.)
CeCe Winans

Meanwhile, CeCe Winans looks as if she were merely attending a neurosurgeons conference nearby and simply popped in to see what the fuss was in this ballroom. I dig it. (I also now want CeCe to have a short but meaningful guest role on Grey's as a neurosurgeon who stops by to solve someone's brain fog and briefly tempt Richard Webber.)
