Saniyya Sidney in Zuhair Murad

Yes, I would have given this girl a slim necklace to wear just for a BIT of neck sparkle, but whatever -- her smile is enough. (And with that last thought, I have officially turned 80, and I look forward to joining the Thursday Murder Club.) Truly, she looks wonderful in this, and I hope she gets to keep the dress.

I mean. What a party.

Kerry and Saniyya

While we're on the subject, Kerry Washington was taking selfies all night -- yes, this is her phone, it seems -- and I thought this one was particularly sweet. I'm sure Saniyya was stoked to get to meet Olivia Pope, much less have Olivia want a photo with her.

Okay, not a selfie, but a photo nonetheless.

She did get in on the selfie action with Ariana eventually, alongside bonus Erivo.

And OBVIOUSLY she got in a Romy and Michele sandwich.

I assume she's shocked here because Helen just expressed concern at some of Olivia Pope's coping methods (like beating a dude to death with a chair), and/or asked if Kerry brought a wine cardigan for later.

Kerry Washington in Celia Kritharioti

Here's a proper look at the gown. It's good! It's fun that it's by a designer we don't see as often -- fresh from her couture show -- and she carries this off really well.

Janina Gavankar in Georges Chakra

She's working this pale yellow with panache. And I mean that both when she's standing still...

... AND when she's Working It.

Karen Pittman in Greta Constantine

She is a delight, and I'm glad she got to go celebrate The Morning Show after the awkward mess that was And Just Like That (although NONE of that mess was her fault; I would watch a different show written by different people that was just about Nya).

Will and Jada (in vintage Gareth Pugh)

For a person who is that petite, Jada has MASSIVE presence. This might be my favorite look of the night, or at least my favorite frock. (It also coordinates very well with Will's, but they somehow manage that in a way that's sophisticated, not cutesy.)

Toheeb Jimoh

He is a DELIGHT, and he looks marvelous while leaning.

Toheeb Jimoh

Unfortunately it loses something when we actually see the shirt (and the pelvis)(no disrespect to his actual pelvis).

Cristo Fernandez

He and Toheeb feel like they used the same stylist, who was like, "A tie? For Zoom? NEVER!"

Phil Dunster

Meanwhile, Phil is dressed as the anti-Jamie Tartt, because Jamie would have worn this with no shirt.

Ann Dowd and Trust Arancio

Ann brought her son, and they both look fab. She's so respected that I assume he spent the entire night meeting actors he recognizes and having them be like, "OMG, YOUR MOM IS SO GOOD."

Jon Bernthal

Okay!

Vanessa Hudgens in Versace

This fits her beautifully. She said something on the red carpet about what a bummer it was to be shooting a movie (Tick, Tick... Boom!) with all those musically talented folks, and not get to jam between takes or on off-hours because of stupid Covid. That made me sad for all of them, because that WOULD have been rad. At least they put it all on-screen.

J. Smith-Cameron

I love this color. I also love that Geri (Succession) looks at the camera like she has a secret and she's trying not to laugh about it.

Jason Ritter and Melanie Lynskey

AND FINALLY, what a dishy way to end. She is so beautiful. (Kate Winslet couldn't come, in the end, and I'm sad we didn't get the Heavenly Creatures reunion photo.) Honestly, this whole slideshow was pretty uplifting. If the main thing to get worked up about is a purple satin shirt and some so-so pleated pants, we've done REALLY well.
