I always worry that the feel-good aspects of an awards story sometimes carry too much weight -- this is in the same realm as giving some actors an Oscar for something just okay, because you like the idea of them having one (like Sandra Bullock for The Blind Side, honestly) -- but his range is very much on display and he's superb. And looks great. ## Michelle Yeoh in Carolina Herrera ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/bf/b9/bfb99790-924d-4e41-a7e6-5e3c6e04fe57/content/images/static-gofugyourself-com/uploads/2023/01/shutterstock_editorial_13713375ie-1673841883.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Matt Baron/BEI/Shutterstock (13713375ie) Michelle Yeoh 28th Annual Critics' Choice Awards, Arrivals, Los Angeles, California, USA - 15 Jan 2023 Wearing Carolina Herrera I didn't think much of this at first, but it grew on me. It does feel perhaps like... the most low-energy version of this outfit? Which looks good on her because she's Michelle Yeoh but which is otherwise kind of forgettable? It might be right in the same box as Cate Blanchett's outfit, where we're seeing the wearer's magic at work. ## Calum Worthy ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/01/shutterstock_editorial_13713379em-1673841785.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Stewart Cook/Shutterstock (13713379em) Calum Worthy 28th Annual Critics' Choice Awards, Arrivals, Los Angeles, California, USA - 15 Jan 2023 Calum is on Reboot, which is charming. I LOVE this jacket -- it's a very dashing use of pink on a night when it was FINALLY in short supply. ## Stephanie Hsu in Valentino ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/01/shutterstock_editorial_13713379ir-1673841794.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Stewart Cook/Shutterstock (13713379ir) Stephanie Hsu 28th Annual Critics' Choice Awards, Arrivals, Los Angeles, California, USA - 15 Jan 2023 This is stunning. She is also good in EEAAO (I loved it, and no disrespect to Cate Blanchett, but Michelle Yeoh does every possible thing in this movie and does them all brilliantly and deserves an Oscar -- IF NOT FOR THIS THEN WHAT?). I would have been thrilled if she'd won her category, except I am also thrilled for Angela Bassett, so. . ## Chelsea Handler in Maticevski ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/01/GettyImages-1456685403-1673841858.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - JANUARY 15: Chelsea Handler attends the 28th Annual Critics Choice Awards at Fairmont Century Plaza on January 15, 2023 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Kevin Winter/Getty Images for Critics Choice Association) She hosted, and she was fine, as is her dress. I did like when she seemed to piss off James Cameron, by pointing out that they spent eleventy billion dollars on Avatar but Sarah Polley shot "Women Talking" in a barn, yet oh look, they're both nominated, so. ## Melanie Lynskey in Giambattista Valli ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/01/shutterstock_editorial_13713379ks-1673841804.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Stewart Cook/Shutterstock (13713379ks) Melanie Lynskey 28th Annual Critics' Choice Awards, Arrivals, Los Angeles, California, USA - 15 Jan 2023 This is nightdress-adjacent, but it's pretty. (Yellowjackets isn't eligible this year, as it was in the mix last year; she was there for Candy.) ## Jen Tullock in Bibhu Mohapatra ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/01/shutterstock_editorial_13716304et-1673841822.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP/Shutterstock (13716304et) Jen Tullock arrives at the 28th annual Critics Choice Awards at The Fairmont Century Plaza Hotel, in Los Angeles 2023 Critics Choice Awards - Arrivals, Los Angeles, United States - 15 Jan 2023 SOMEDAY Severance will win things. Jen is a bit of a Noted Kook, at times, maybe? Or a burgeoning one? This is great though -- the sleeves and bodice work so well. ## Dominique Fishback in Greta Constantine ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/01/shutterstock_editorial_13716304iu-1673841841.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP/Shutterstock (13716304iu) Dominique Fishback arrives at the 28th annual Critics Choice Awards at The Fairmont Century Plaza Hotel, in Los Angeles 2023 Critics Choice Awards - Arrivals, Los Angeles, United States - 15 Jan 2023 She is adorable AND could believably be in Hawaii. ## Minha Kim in Dior ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/01/Minha-Kim-Dior-Critics-Choice-Awards-1673841866.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - JANUARY 15: Minha Kim attends the 28th Annual Critics Choice Awards at Fairmont Century Plaza on January 15, 2023 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Monica Schipper/WireImage) Hmm. Just... hmm. It's FINE I guess. Her lipstick rocks? ## Judy Greer in Greta Constantine ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/01/shutterstock_editorial_13713379m-1673841813.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Stewart Cook/Shutterstock (13713379m) Judy Greer 28th Annual Critics' Choice Awards, Arrivals, Los Angeles, California, USA - 15 Jan 2023 Wearing Greta Constantine That seems a little limp. ## Harry Shum Jr. ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/01/shutterstock_editorial_13716304gi-1673841832.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP/Shutterstock (13716304gi) Harry Shum Jr. arrives at the 28th annual Critics Choice Awards at The Fairmont Century Plaza Hotel, in Los Angeles 2023 Critics Choice Awards - Arrivals, Los Angeles, United States - 15 Jan 2023 I didn't know he was in Everything Everywhere All At Once, and without being specific -- in case anyone hasn't seen it, that movie is a treat to just DISCOVER as you go -- his running gag is my favorite thing I've seen in a long time. And I love his suit. ## Ruth E. Carter ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/01/shutterstock_editorial_13713375co-1673841875.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Matt Baron/BEI/Shutterstock (13713375co) Ruth E. Carter 28th Annual Critics' Choice Awards, Arrivals, Los Angeles, California, USA - 15 Jan 2023 Looking regal as ever, Ruth won for the costumes in Wakanda Forever, and they gave it to her off-air?!? Whatever, dudes. The show ended on time, and they were pleased with themselves, but they skipped several awards and then made the Best Supporting Actor/Actress winners come up together and speak one after the other? It was odd. ## Busy Philipps ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/01/shutterstock_editorial_13716304jg-1673841850.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP/Shutterstock (13716304jg) Busy Philipps arrives at the 28th annual Critics Choice Awards at The Fairmont Century Plaza Hotel, in Los Angeles 2023 Critics Choice Awards - Arrivals, Los Angeles, United States - 15 Jan 2023 And this works, too! I think she was ostensibly there with Michelle Williams, but her Girls5Eva costar Renee Elise Goldsberry was nominated (RIGHTLY) so I guess she got to pull double duty. ## Tyler James Williams ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2023/01/shutterstock_editorial_13713375sz-1673841776.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Matt Baron/BEI/Shutterstock (13713375sz) Tyler James Williams 28th Annual Critics' Choice Awards, Arrivals, Los Angeles, California, USA - 15 Jan 2023 Very polished. Abbott won again, as did Sheryl Lee Ralph, and I'm thrilled for them all. RIDE THE WAVE. [Michelle Yeoh, Stephanie Hsu, and the Rest of Roy G.
