This feels like an Elizabethan Angel and I enjoy that.

Poppy is NOT on theme, Alexa is dressed as an angel of her own designer, and Karen managed to pull it together to hold up the side here. (I will note that I think Poppy's dress is fun; I just don't know what it has to do with anything, which Heather also noted earlier but....here she is again!)

Kiersey Clemons in H&M

This might be my favorite of the H&M looks of last night -- they dressed a LOT of women but this feels so chic and easy.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge in Christopher Kane

That's a picture from Joy of Sex, so if you don't think this is a poke at The Church...you are wrong.

This color is so fantastic on her.

Kristin Scott Thomas in Erdem

I believe this is Erdem's only offering at the Met this year. Are they perhaps...busy elsewhere in London??!?! (Having said that: NO ONE wore McQueen or Ralph & Russo, so if we're using the Met to handicap royal wedding gowns, I don't know if we've learned much.)

Sofia Coppola in Marc Jacobs

I must admit that I wish I could walk around looking like Sofia Coppola basically all the time. Yes, those are very wide-legged pants. No, this is not very thematic. I DO NOT CARE.

Salma Hayek in Altuzarra

This is a REALLY interesting choice of designer for her -- she never wears Altuzarra -- and a very VERY good one. She looks great in this. (I also like how it looks like an amazing mural.)(I ALSO like how this photo makes it look like that woman in black is bowing to Salma's bosom.)

Gabrielle Union in Prabal Gurung

Prabal dressed MANY women and this is one of those numbers where I feel like she looks great, but for another party?

This is GLAM! H&M had a very big night.

Eh. This is good on her, but it's also like something you could wear to the Oscars. I wish it felt a tiny bit more...wacky.

Scarlett Johansson in Marchesa and Colin Jost

She's wearing Marchesa, and I have questions:

a) This is not on theme at all.

b) It's not so great that it's worth wearing despite being off theme AND knowing that EVERYONE is gonna be like, "Marchesa, really?!" She released a statement that said, "I wore Marchesa because their clothes make women feel confident and beautiful and it is my pleasure to support a brand created by two incredibly talented and important female designers."  I'm sure that's true but...if you're gonna make a comeback, ladies, you need to do it with more zing than this, because...

c) I could tell you this photo was from 2007 and you'd believe me. And yet it is custom from this year.

d) If I were a stylist, I admittedly would advise my client against wearing Marchesa. Weinstein helped fund the line; he allegedly pressured actresses to wear it; I personally think it's irretrivably tainted. Now, if Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig were to re-name and re-launch, that's a whole other ball of wax -- but this just looks SO MUCH LIKE Marchesa As Usual that it feels really fraught to me in a way that it wouldn't have if she'd shown up in like Leather Pants By Georgina and Keren. ScarJo is pretty politically involved and she's not dumb, so she surely thought this all through but, yeah. Questions.

She gets away with looks that other people COULD NEVER.

I do not get how this is on theme AT ALL -- it almost feels like it would have been better suited at the Poiret gala -- but it IS cool on her.

In which Saint Laurent and everyone wearing it just GIVES UP.

The Best of Rest of the Met Gala 2018
