Also, this is her default silhouette now. At least she's not wearing plastic shoes anymore? I suppose a boring Kim is better than a Balmain-clad half-naked Kim.

I'm glad this white net caught her before she washed any further out to sea. We can't lose her to the merpeople before she stars in Gabrielle Union's life story.

This would be pretty on her, if we couldn't see what APPEARS to be last-second hemming problems on the skirt

Madelaine Petsch in Prada

This is custom, which is a pretty nice get for a humble child of Riverdale. I don't know if I think the head-styling goes with the rest of it, though, and I find myself wishing she'd saved this for a REAL occasion.

Aubrey Plaza in Elisabetta Franchi

I like the vintage feel of this, although it's REALLY short. Even another inch or two would help. But it'd also look cool as a long dress, with a fitted waist. You know, if anyone's looking to reboot it.

This feels... like such an odd thing for Tory Burch to make specially for a person, especially Yada Shahidi. I don't mind the top, but the pants aren't a tasty flavor, and WHY ARE THOSE SHOES HAPPENING TO HER. I also think she looks better without the bangs. Is grown-ish this season all about changing her look so that she's less identifiable with her black-ish years?

Olivia Munn in Galvan

I don't love it. And the velvet is a bit unforgiving. But damned if the color doesn't work, and she seems to have matched her shoes to her fringe... and let's be honeset: Her cleavage looks GREAT. So it's probably a win.

I don't understand an outfit that's designed to look like you tied something around your waist to hide an accident. But I do appreciate and enjoy the overall chill vibe she's working, especially with the shiny brogues.

Amandla Stenberg

Hmm. I can work with this, but I want a mulligan on the eye makeup.

It's never chic when you can see navel. Certainly not THE ENTIRE navel. I do hope, though, that she gets herself sprung from Riverdale and cast on a show that actually uses her.

Oh, wow. I bet that looked REALLY cool and shimmery and liquid in person; in photos it seemed hard to catch from an angle that was wholly kind. It comes across a bit overwhelming. (Also, are those new Tamara Mellons? I call them the REDACTED shoe because they look like a document that's been heavily censored. They are terrible.)

Mandy Moore in Alberta Ferretti

I like the tough-girl robot-chic idea that she's going for here, but the dress is making me feel like I'm staring at all her priate parts. Too tight.

I never realized lace was such a fearsome predator.

This is a little costumey -- it's VERY Andra Day Designs a Juniors Line -- but at least they look like they're having fun, and all their bits are covered. Call THAT a win for sure.

Yara, Kim, and Mandy Help Wrap Up the MTV Movie Awards
Sigh. Kimberly. What are we going to do with you. This woman wore cornrows while referring to them as Bo Derek braids, got blasted for both cultural appropriation and for just generally sounding totally ignorant about their significance, immediately doubled down on the Bo Derek thing because she apparently gives no f*cks, and then stuck to her guns AGAIN in Elle in May. And now here she is once more, with feeling. Certainly, I understand that the line between appreciation and appropriation is one that many people are nervous to walk, or don't know how to do while staying on the correct side, but in that situation my response would be: Err on the side of caution. Kim errs on the side of blankness. This all might play a bit differently if she'd shown signs in any of her various statements that she's open to the larger discussion beyond just "Bo Derek is rad," or shown any introspection or intellectual curiosity or ability to stretch her perceptions AT ALL. So instead, she just comes across as intractable and like kind of a jerk. I can't tell if she actually just legitimately doesn't care about the conversation, refuses to hear it, or sincerely doesn't understand it. I think it's a combination, heavily weighted toward Door No. 1. [Photos: Chelsea Lauren/REX/Shutterstock, Matt Baron/REX/Shutterstock]
