So, my lack of knowledge of the source material -- I've seen it, but only in pieces, and not the whole thing -- means that I do not know if any of these creative outfits are referencing anything in particular.

This feels like it could be at least PARTIALLY his costume. Maybe not the gorilla sleeves.

I love Dratch -- and her episode of and appearances on Amy Poehler's podcast are so epic. She looks great here -- it's festive and sparkly and just the right amount of weird.

He's the director (he also recently won a Tony for "Oh, Mary!"). And though I don't know much, I AM pretty sure underpants is somewhat on-theme here.

The skirt essentially being a jacket, backwards, is the right amount of whimsy. I'm happy to see her.

I love that jacket. It feels perhaps more October than April, but whatever, let's all LIVE DAMMIT.
