The Royal Christmas Luncheon 2018

The Cambridges

William always looks so handsome whilst driving and I think it's because the sunshade there blocks out his balding situation. (Although I frankly also think Bald Wills is hot.) George, as ever, looks stunned by all the people who want to look at him, and I assume Charlotte back there is thinking about whether she needs another couple of mice for that experiment she's working on.

This is like the most chipper Wills has EVER looked when being forced to navigate his car through a crowd of strangers. (There are plenty of other photos where he looks mildly aggravated, don't worry.) Kate is, as you can see with your eyes, wearing pink. I assume the rest of this outfit involves cut-off denim shorts and Uggs.

Harry ALSO looks surprisingly jovial! Granny's menu must have been extra delicious this year. (Meghan, of course, has a natural Resting Pleasant Face. She is wearing an Erdem dress she's had for a while -- the ladies at Meghan's Mirror, in fact, tracked down a video of her wearing it on the Today show.)

I assume Philip was driven in from Windsor, and that's why he wasn't already at Buckingham Palace with the Queen. I enjoy that his facial expression seems to say, "UGH, all these people are STILL HERE."

Princess Beatrice

And Bea is very Thousand Yard Stare today. (I didn't see pics of Eugenie and Jack, but I would assume they attended, unless they're out of town for some reason.)

Princess Anne

In which Princess Anne DOES NOT CARE and chooses to wear her puffy parka to this party.

Tim Laurence

And Mr. Princess Anne, as is his wont, just walks over.

We had a recent chat about whether the women ever drive themselves places (they do, obviously), and here photographic proof! (Prince Edward came in another car; it also seems like as a good a place as any to note that Chaz and Andy were obviously also at this thing. They looked just as you imagine. I did not, however, see Camilla?)

Peter Phillips, Autumn Phillips

"What about MY Christmas beard, huh? I'VE ALSO GOT A BEARD."

Isla Phillips

I suspect I am enamoured of little Isla's little tweedy-y coat.

Princess Alexandra

I love Princess Alexandra for not only waving, but rolling down her window to get a REAL wave out there. (She's the Queen's first cousin and still carries out a lot of engagements for her.) Fun fact via her Wikipedia page: “Her birth was the last to have the tradition of having the Home Secretary present to verify the birth of potential heirs to the throne. Secretary Sir John Simon was present and was the last to do this.” Good for QEII for putting the kibosh on THAT one.

BLESSEDLY BROOCH FREE. (As far as we can tell. Hopefully nothing lurks beneath her coat.) This is also the time of year where I am contractually obligated to note, as I always do, that Prince Michael is very handsome and looks like a Tsar.

The Tindalls

I do not know who the cozy older woman is sitting there in the back with Mia -- she might be Mike's mother, she might be Mia's nanny, she might be the psychic the Queen has engaged to give readings after the meal, I do not know. But I do know that Mike and Zara look festive and jolly.
