## Cate Blanchett in Armani

At first, I thought this was a re-wear, but I think it's just because Armani and Cate are such old friends. She looks dreamy but I also feel like the bodice has slid slightly askew. (Whoops! I just read that the lace in this gown came [from the leftovers from a dress she's worn twice previously](https://www.instagram.com/p/CpJoMHorJVQ/?hl=en&ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io), so I guess my vibe was right. That's so cool, honestly.)

Speaking of superb, this is gorgeous and gorgeous on her. (I assume it's in part a reference [to this classic Dior gown](https://artsandculture.google.com/asset/junon-christian-dior/PQEq%5FzKMrudA8A?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io).) She looks perfect.

This is a little more low-key than previous looks for SLR but she WORKED these sleeves on the red carpet.

And she -- as you can well imagine -- worked this cape with the enthusiasm of a true cape aficionado. Her presenting stint with Haley Lu Richardson, also, was terrific; I actually laughed out loud at them.

And this was intriguingly much less sheer -- and therefore much better -- on the broadcast than it is here. It still looks like she's wearing a rain shower, but at least that's a romantic turn of events.

This dress is absolutely gorgeous, although it feels a hair too large for her. Her styling feels perhaps a little underbaked? She looks like she's just popped out of the dressing room after trying this on for the first time.

And this is sexy and great on her BUT those boob straps needed like an inch more there there. If you told me this was being worn backwards, it would make SO much sense. (It's not backwards; her stylist Jessica Paster said she had seven fittings and the underboob is intentional.) Her head looks SUPERB.

This isn't bad -- Linney always looks good in ensembles that you could also see on *The Gilded Age* \-- but it does feel steeped in the knowledge that she wasn't going to win.
