Rachel said this was inspired by Karl's work at Chloe in the 1990s, which was all about mesh and "embracing the nipple"?? I guess, by covering ONLY the nipple, this is... sort of doing that. I suppose wearing a dress with JUST the nipples showing would have been too Regina George. But surely those are... barely covering hers? How high up are your nipples, Rachel?!? No, don't answer that.

Billie, when talking to La La Anthony, was very happy and animated, which is always fun to see when she gets so stern on the red carpet. She had Simone Rocha custom-make this -- a designer she said does not typically do that work -- and maybe Simone should have sat this one out?

This seems like... related inspiration, kicked up several degrees. I am sure this connects back to some Karl confection or other, but honestlyit could be anyone. Literally everyone has made a version of this dress, sadly.

Margot specifically cited a 1993 Cindy Crawford runway dress, and said this is a recreation of it. From that photo, it seems they both my have had the bizarre plastic window? Margot's seems more pronounced, though.

It's puckering so unpleasantly, and is that sweat? Why plastic? And why not UPDATE it, or free her ribcage, if it was being remade? At least her head is great, but it looks like misery to wear.

And yep, those are chains coming down from her nails. This is the manicure equivalent, to me, of when you have a hair on your outfit and can't seem to pick it off and get rid of it.

As sheer dresses go, this one works fairly well/ You don't REALLY feel like you're seeing anything, and the embroidery is lovely.

Kim fooled us all. She met Karl's cat Choupette in Paris... and then wandered over to Schiaparelli to get her outfit. But this is really clearly just... pearls over shapewear, and when she did all her interviews, you could see the bodice under the pears in a way that really took you out of it. Even ehre the skirt looks like it's unraveling. This doesn't have any of the magical qualities of some of Kim's past efforts, nor of the construction Schiaparelli usually does. Maybe she should've gone to Paris sooner. (She also mentioned the real pearls were popping off all over the place and she assigned North to pick them up if she saw them in the limo. The hosts were like, "Guess we know who we're following around all night." She's going to shed SO MUCH MONEY.)
