The 2008 MTV VMAs were held last night in Los Angeles and the highlight was undoubtedly a return to form of one of the music channel's biggest stars, Britney Spears. After starring in a short comedy sketch, the singer received a standing ovation and, somewhat controversially, made a clean sweep of all her nominated awards: Best Female Video, Best Pop Video and Video of the Year. Russell Brand presented the ceremony and was distinctly political in his performance, endorsing Barack Obama as a presidential candidate, slamming President Bush and poking fun at Republican Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin. The stars were truly out for the night, with performances by the Jonas Brothers, Katy Perry, Chris Brown and Rihanna, Pink, Mark Ronson, Timbaland, Linkin Park and Alicia Keys, while award winners included Pussycat Dolls, Lil Wayne, Gnarls Barkley and Tokio Hotel.
I honestly feel like she could wear this as a top now. Like, over jeans? Try it on quarantine, Solange!
