Jennifer looks so very cute here, and still very quadriceps-forward in a way that's exceptionally on-brand. I also, by the way, cannot believe this movie is 21 years old. It feels 10 years old at most, to me. Maybe that's because J.Lo has preserved herself with a high degree of similarity.
Bridgette Wilson-Sampras, Matthew McConaughey and Jennifer Lopez
One other thing about this movie that makes me crazy is, it kinda lets Matty's behavior off the hook by making Bridgette Wilson's character end up having doubts ALSO, so hey, it's all good, they weren't meant to be, don't worry about the fact that he was going all soft-eyed for you while he was preparing to walk down the aisle with someone else! ALSO, you can see the polka-dots on J.Lo's blouse better here, and also her bra, because the camera flashes were not kind to it from several angles. (We'll come back to Matthew.)
Bridgette Wilson
She looks pretty great in this, even if it also looks like it's made of a fancy tarp. How very wipe-clean! I always liked Bridgette Wilson. She really did quit acting not that long after this, and I wonder why. Maybe she decided everyone in Hollywood is garbage. (I'm not even being sarcastic. That seems like a reasonable conclusion.)

I assume these two were dating -- Salli Richardson is an actress who has become a prolific TV director. She's married to Dondre Whitfield, whom I will always love from his early early days on All My Children (also, his kids played little league where mine did, and he coached one of the other teams, and seemed like a SUPER nice guy). So! Hooray for Salli, who looks very 2000s-cool in this outfit. Seeing McConaughey with a buzz cut is very strange. I'm not even sure what this was for; maybe "Frailty"? I do not think his tie works. The end.
Tangi Miller and J. August Richards
And, we have two WB stars, one from Felicity and one from Angel. These old slideshows send me down the rabbit hole of Friends, Colleagues, or Dating? Random internet sites claim they did date. He also came out in 2020 (obviously, both those things can be true; the latter is just the only personal life fact I know about him for sure). Tangi looks great here.

OMG. BRAD ROWE. If you watched TV in like 1999, you probably know that Kevin Williamson REALLY seemed to think Brad Rowe and Marisa Coughlan were the future. I have such vivid memories of them being right on the cusp; it's so fascinating to look back and see which actors of the era did transcend and which didn't, and wonder why. Chad Michael Murray more or less made it; Brad Rowe didn't, really. Was it the three names? WAS IT? Would Brad Michael Rowe have been IT?

We featured a close-up of this haircut in the Rachael Leigh Cook flashback fugtrospective from earlier in the pandemic, but it never hurts to revisit an old foe. LOOK AT THIS. The boots! The choppy hair and frosted locks! Was SHE trying for the Chad Michael Murray? You need more squinting, kid.
The ONE thing about this movie that does throw me is McConaughey's blondness. But this poster also looks exceedingly Brought To You By Photoshop. AND, I hate that tagline. It's so CLUNKY and it ends in a preposition and I don't think you should use any word or derivation thereof that's also in the title. They could have written, "... and other events you just can't control," for one thing. GAH.
