Gal Gadot and Lynda Carter

We can all only hope to be as cool as Lynda Carter. Who, by the way, also plays POTUS on Supergirl. Because she can be all kinds of awesome at once.

Okay, but this bums me out. It's not flattering. The lipstick is wrong. The neck is aggressively... strangley. And worse, it simply doesn't feel special enough. This is WONDER WOMAN. In a movie. At long last. And yet not only doesn't this look great, but it's the Fall 2017 variation of something we've seen a lot of before: the color and cut on Imogen Poots and the cut and sparkle on Joan Smalls, plus a cousin on Lupita. All that gives this a tired feel. There are more special dresses out there for a movie that's a big stonking deal. Put the wonder in it, y'all.

This is a great color and a forgettable cut, but here is where you'll notice that Gal Gadot is wearing flats. And she is at every other event -- including the premiere. When Variety asked why, she shrugged, "It's more comfortable!" She's not wrong.

I quite like the little pleated skirt poking out here.

Robin Wright in Saint Laurent

Apparently Robin is in the movie, as "General Antiope," which I keep reading as General Antelope. Her clutch is gorgeous, but this is another dress that makes me want to fuss with it and rearrange it -- like she blew in from somewhere and hasn't gotten to a mirror yet.

I hope Legends of Tomorrow lets her stay purple. I actually kinda like the outfit on her, too, mostly because the top is so girly and the hairdo gives it a clashing punky edge.

Why can't here be a version of this that doesn't make her crotch the story? Danielle, by the way, is on The Flash, as Caitlin/Killer Frost. The poor DC TV stars have had to endure all the movie people being like, "UM NO, we are not in THEIR universe," which makes sense and yet also has to feel a bit like misplaced disdain.

She is so, so lovely. (She's Iris on The Flash, aka his lady love. She cried A LOT this season, so we should all just be impressed her eyes aren't still puffier than Anne Shirley's sleeves.)
