I was so confused when I first saw this, because I thought it was a dress on a cardboard cutout. IT IS NOT. I definitely feel the influence of Moncler on this dress, but it does also have the Thom Browne spin.

I ALSO then thought these were cardboard cutouts, but in the movie you can see there is a person in some of these. Unless it's... a motorized mannequin?

The heads are very spooky. I really do feel like you could do A Quiet Place 3: Basketheads or something. (Please note, I have made this joke without actually watching QP 1.)

I DO feel like Janelle Monae, a noted aficionado of Thom Browne, would try the head basket. She would know what to do.

Also obviously eerie: The appearance of levitation.

MARY POPPINS IS THAT YOU? Is this whole show a Poppins afterlife lobby, where all the Marys deployed around the world -- I've decided she was always a clone -- are sent to retire or await their next assignment?

Mr. Banks is back after a rough at day the office, only to discover that Mary has turned his briefcase into a dog.

"Ruff day, you say, George?"

Bert quit the sweep business and is now a dentist.

This Mary Poppins has BEEN PLACES. The dress is the passport.

This Poppins owns an ice cream parlor where they sing VERY surreal songs to celebrate people's birthdays.

This one presides over the Church of Poppins.

Tuxedo Face prefers an air of mystery, and may also be wanted for murder.

This Poppins took Amy March out skating on a pond and taught her how to cut a hole in the ice, for scheming purposes.

This Poppins wants you to try snowshoeing. Just TRY.

Without the music, and the slow pace of the movie, this ends up looking like she's having a hard time walking in that.

WHOOSH.

This is cute.

I kept waiting for the twist to be that she woke up and THE GOLD BOOTS WERE REAL; MAYBE THE DREAM WAS, TOO, but no.

It's pretty in color, but the yellow dress in an otherwise black and white photo is definitely niftier.
